PaulC
This game shows the difference between the Premier League and la liga outside of the big three in la liga
Dr_Pangloss
Rashford fan club out as soon as he does something good, shame he hasn't done much of that for the vast majority of the season
Popular Post TrentVilla Posted May 5, 2017 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted May 5, 2017 I find the negative reaction to Rashford a little strange to be honest, the boys a pretty talented young player. Sure at times the hype over him is OTT, that is English press for you but it's clear he is going to be a good player. So far he is a 1 in 4 goal scorer in both domestic and European football. That is pretty decent at this stage of his career and considering how he is often used.

That is pretty decent at this stage of his career and considering how he is often used. It's the polarisation effect. Those who wax lyrical about him (say Gary Lineker) come across as thinking he's 11 out of 10. This upsets the grumblers who have him around the 4 or 5 mark (whether out of anti-Utd bitterness or just poor judgement). As a prospect, he's probably an 8 in reality. But both sides think the other is OTT and the discussion for the rest of us becomes tiresome. He's a cracking forward who knows where the goal is and he's getting better and better (and fitter) all the time.
PaulC
Yes I wouldn't put him up there with Wayne Rooney at the same age but he's a prospect.
dudevillaisnice
Curious to see how it plays out though if Rooney leaves and they spend money on Griezmann and probably another striker. My guess is he will be warming the bench a lot more next season.
Genie
Rashford seems like a guy who could have done with a loan to play every week in the premier league (a la Lukaku) to really see what he's made of.

I'd say of the two he'd need a loan/permanent move more as Mbappe and Dembele both going to be fixtures in every squad now so any decent french players risks not getting called up if they're not playing week in week out. PaulC
Where is Grezmann's best position? No. 10? wide left. I think Rashford and and Griezmann could be their main strike-force next year.
Dr_Pangloss
I don't think Griezmann is as good as people make out TBH
PaulC
If he played in the Barcelona team he would get 30 goals a season in La Liga. Simeone stifles him and so will Mourinho.

Maybe, no doubt that he's a very talented player, just don't see him in that upper echelon, he was shocking in the Champions League final against Madrid and was non-existent in the European Championship final. Not sure he can deliver on the very big occasions. Edited May 7, 2017 by Dr_Pangloss

But yes maybe he still a few things to prove
bobzy
Mourinho has absolutely no desire to go away from home against "big teams" and win. Man Utd with 0 goals scored away from home against the other sides in the top 6 (granted, Spurs still to play).
PaulC
Yes seems to me he is gambling the whole season on winning the europa league. Great chance today with Liverpool drawing.

PaulC
its the champions league carrot that makes it worth while but when you think how Ajax have performed in the champions league and now should get to the Europa league final then you realise the gulf between the two competitions. mikeyp102
Mourinho gets trophies on the record though. Winning Europa League and gettin a champs league spot with it tops it off. I agree in a way, a trophy is far better than 4th.
