But I'm inclined to agree with him there and I am willing to admit, I've never thought of it in that sense. However, the "price someone pays" for an incidental remark isn't fair either. The phrase, "I couldn't give a monkeys" is an acceptable phrase to suggest you don't care - up where I am from. A referee said that to a black Chelsea player last year when he was arguing with him and it nearly cost him his career. Racism, sexism and homophobia is abhorrent in my book and always will be. But we need to be careful that we don't crucify people for innocuous comments wherein they simply haven't considered the implications of what they have said. Folski Posted October 17, 2013 Share Posted October 17, 2013 Just found out that the other young guy in the office is finishing tomorrow, now the thing is, I checked and he started on April 19th 2010, and Saturday would be exactly 3.5 years since he started, I assume he was on the same trainee accountant contract as me, which is also 3.5 years. It would appear that he isn't getting his contract renewed at all and I feel kind of bad for him, I know he failed a few exams but my boss is so sound, (hence my constantly on VT) honestly just the nicest man, I'm just kind of shocked that he hasn't kept him on especially when the next 4 weeks we take in about 40% of our work for the entire year. I know, I mean he does seem a small bit ineffectual, but I kind of feel like I've come in and stood on him a bit, as I've really progressed and got some good solid experience, along with 3 pay increases while he's still pretty much at where he was when he started.
