Unfortunately I don't think we can afford to rest too many seniors as the rest just aren't good enough. That said, I would be surprised if we don't go through. Is Clark suspended? Need to get a first win of the season and more game-time together for the players to get used to the system. 8pints Posted August 27, 2012 Share Posted August 27, 2012 I'm in two minds at the moment whether to give some people a rest and others a chance or play the strongest team we can to give them an extra match/chance to gel because that seems to be what a few of the players need, the experience of playing together. Also, whether to give Given a rest/drop him or play him and give him a chance to get some confidence? I'd play Guzan to give him a fair chance. We are not in a position to be resting players. We need a win for the confidence. Getting beat by Tranmere at Villa Park would be disasterous. He was just what we needed against Everton, a forward who can move and work the flanks, give the midfield something to aim at and compete physically with defenders.
