BOF Posted September 24, 2012 Moderator Share Posted September 24, 2012 Of all the other players I think Bannan is probably best equipped to play that role. I hope Ireland's arm isn't broken though :?
AVFCforever1991
Agreed, Bannan needs to step up now and become the playmaker. Makes runs into the box, thread balls through to the strikers.

tismyk
Bannan should be playing in Irelands position, with Herd in his makes us stronger defensively and more strength and height in the middle and for set pieces.
Oaks
I will say this for sure...Ireland wasn't on the pitch for the Everton first half or the Southampton second half.
VillaChris
Yep while I'm not saying we would've won both games with him on the pitch, the facts are the game and a half he hasn't figured in this season we've lost 3-1 and 4-0 so the midfield is much weaker without him. tismyk
No Ireland tonight, don`t think our midfield was weaker without him!, good for coming off the bench if we are stuggling, to light weight for 90 mins.
VillaAndLoyal
Unbelievable. Even when he doesn't play through injury, our performance without him is still used as a 'reason' why he shouldn't be in the team. Incredible what lengths some people will go to to score points. Czechlad
Massive loss for us. Ireland has been making our midfield run. I think we will notice a big difference without Ireland soon.

Richard
Wouldn't think it was long term but I hope the rest in the team make it impossible for him to step straight back in
CI
I guess by default we will now get to see others in the creative role. Could be a lucky break for the club

Folski
We have a few options now and don't forget carruthers & Johnson. Both should seek loan deals, I'd imagine a top half Championship team for Carruthers & a top half League One team for Johnson, both would be ten times better off getting some first team experience out in the real world than cozy games in the U21s.
