Or if it was in the UK

WW: 'I must make an appointment at the GP for this cough. I'll ring when the phone lines open at 08:30.'

GP Phone @08:30: 'Sorry the phone lines are closed. Please ring between 08:30 and 16:30'

GP Phone @08:31: 'You are number 17 in the queue. Please hold, your call is important to us.'

GP Phone @08:39: "Hello? Oh sorry, there are no appointments left today, you'll have to try tomorrow"

...

6 months later:

Specialist: "The cancer has spread around your whole body and you have 2 weeks to live. We may have been OK had we caught it early enough"

Blimey, I'm glad I stayed with Alvechurch practice, even after moving to Lickey End! Pretty good at getting a same day appointment if needed, although I've yet to test them out with lung cancer.

Worst shooting since every baddie ever aiming at Arnold Schwarzenegger in every movie he's ever done.

The shooting wasn't that bad when you consider it was a "Hollywood" style shoot-out

Although the scene is around 40 seconds long, the actual time it takes Gomie and Hank to get to cover is about 2 seconds, and they aren't that in the open in the first place either, they're quite close to the car. They are also slowly edging to towards the car before the Nazi's open fire.

What you're essentially seeing is:

For the first 20 seconds (ish) you're seeing the varying viewpoints of that 2 second period it takes for Hank and Gomie to get to the car.

The last 20 second you're seeing the varying view points of what seems to be about a 5-10 second gun fight, and considering both groups are firing from cover and at people in cover, it would be hard to hit them.

So for what seems a ridiculously long gun fight with no-one getting hit, it's actually about a 7-12 second gun fight with both sides behind cover for the most of it.

Plus apparently Gomie got shot, but I couldn't quite make it out.

Almost screwed up the spoiler tag

Gomie def got hit. He's gone. Hank too after a phone call like that.

Walt probably strikes a deal to save Jesse. But I can't see how the Nazis will let him go knowing he's a rat.

Then ?????????????????????

Leaving Walt no choice but to phone Saul's guy and vanish. He probably comes back once he knows the end is near and wants one shot at redemption.

I just watched the shootout three times through and it doesn't appear Gomie gets hit. There's one long distance shot from behind Todd's group where it might have happened, but it doesn't look like he gets hit to me. I don't think he'll make it out of there alive next episode, however.

Oh, and who the hell taught Todd to fire a gun?

Bit off topic but AMC have announced a spin off 'Better Call Saul'

Well, until Breaking Bad finishes and the spin-off starts, it can be classed as on topic, imo.

I don't know what to think of the spin-off if I'm honest. On one hand, Saul is a brilliant character and it would be interesting to see him before he met Walt (spin-off is supposedly a prequel). However, spin-offs can be tricky to get right. I also don't quite see what storylines would fit, would it just be Saul trying to get a different client out of trouble each week? If so, it could quickly turn in to a kind of cheesy cop story, but with a lawyer.

I look forward to it still though, as Vince Gilligan is an awesome writer and producer, and if anyone were to make it work, it would be him.

Do we read into anything the fact they are calling it a prequel?

I don't think it will tie into the main series that much, maybe the final episodes leading up to when he first meets Jesse and Walt.

My theory is Hank & Gomie are done for, it's worth noting Dean Norris (Hank) asked to be killed off in the first 8 as he has a new comedy show but Gilligan wouldn't allow it & said he was vital to the second half of the series. I'm then guessing Todd gets killed during the shoot out more than likely by Hank. Walt will realize that Marie will reveal all now that Hank is dead and his only option is to flee, very possibly using Saul's vacuum guy, therefore he will not be able to cook for the Nazis. Jesse is then the only option left for them so they will not kill him, but force him to cook. Walt will dig up some of his money, enough so that he can pay for the vacuum guy, run home and tell them all that they have to leave now & to pack bags. The episode after this is called Granite State which is the nickname of New Hampshire, where is where his drivers licence was from in the flash forward at the start of season 5. I think he comes back for Jesse.

I think the Hank phone call was

too obvious. It could be a bit of misdirection. We have been prepared to see Hank die and I think something else will happen. So I think he lives, but is badly injured. Gomie may die, but it doesn't really matter. I think Jesse will be killed in the next episode. The Nazis know he is a rat. He's done for.

Walt probably uses the time afforded to him (with Hank being injured) to phone Saul's guy and disappear. The next episode is called 'Ozymandias', which as mentioned, is a bit of an obvious clue. We all know his meth empire is at an end, and next weeks episode should show Walt finally realising it.  I'm not sure if his family comes along. Because we knew his meth empire ended a while ago, I think his 'legacy' (family) will come to an end too. It makes sense to leave Walt without anyone he cares about in his life. This is probably Lydia/Todd's doing.

I have a feeling next weeks episode will be the most violent, followed by his 'escape' to New Hampshire while various forces come at him, and a final episode of Walt getting revenge a year down the line.

I don't think Hank has anything else to give though, I mean if he does survive, he loses his job when he informs the DEA, Walt is off to New Hampshire anyway so I just don't see what else they can do with him, unless when Walt comes back in the future he makes a deal with Hank to help him get the Nazis. As much training as he has had I just can't see him getting out of this alive.

I said the same last week assuming the phone call wouldn't be for a hit on Jesse but something way more complex & I was wrong. I'd say it's much more likely that his family will indeed abandon him & choose not to leave with him. It'll end up just him & his money, at this stage I don't know which one of those are more important to him. In the future we see he is still taking his medicine and coughing, so the cancer is probably going to kill him anyway, (VG said the cancer would have a big part to play in the last 8 and as of yet has had very little) I think he realizes that the money is no good to him, and that's why he doesn't want a free meal & leaves $100 tip.

I think Jesse is way too important a character to simply be offed by the Nazis. I think if anyone survives the final few episodes, it will be him and if he does die, it will be at the hands of a more significant character. I've a sneaky feeling that he might have a (relatively) happy ending. But before that I'm pretty sure he's heading into enforced slavery... The nazis know where Brock and his ma live now...

Hadn't even thought of that, I'm pretty sure Jesse would willingly do anything to protect the two of them. I think I've convinced myself that I've got the bulk of the end now, basically Hank will kill Todd before he & Gomez die, they'll have Jesse at gun point & Walt will tell them they can't kill him as they need him to cook. Marie could/will reveal all upon Hank's death & that leaves no option but for Walter to leave town, the Nazis will take Jesse & force him to cook. Walt will dig up enough money to pay for the vacuum guy, he'll run home and tell them all to pack their things, but Skylar will finally see sense and tell him no, when he tells her Hank is dead and it's all about to come crumbling down. This will leave Walt on the way to New Hampshire, with just him & his money, he'll go about his life to a certain degree & will eventually reach a point where doctors tell him his cancer is incurable, he'll stop the chemo & his hair will grow back, he'll be on the way out and go back for Jesse & probably die saving him.
