Any reason why we didn't go for Rhodes? Surely he fits the profile of player we're going for?
too much money I'd say. Particularly given the lack of top flight football. In all for lower league signings, but not ones for silly money like Rhodes

Spearing is gash

Just take one look at the pool forums to see how they rate him

According to them he has half the ability of Henderson and we all know how rubbish he is

Tbf most Liverpool fans are completely nuts. I'd say Henderson has no ability, at least Spearing can win a tackle and has a good work ethic. We're also comparing £20m against about £3m. I think El Ahmadi would appreciate someone like Spearing next to him.

any reason why? I'd be content to ee him come in on loan to supplement the youth with some experience.

Clear enough? Or shall i draw you both a picture?

My post was a general attempt at lightening the mood a little not an attempt to have a dig at you or what you posted (apologies if it came across that way).

echo this

No worries lads, apologies too, just in a shite mood today.

Maybee not the right tread but we've apparently spent £201 million on transfers during the last 10 years.

1. Chelsea 673

2. Man City 572

3. Liverpool 414

4. Man United 352

5. Tottenham 350

6. Arsenal 214

7. Aston Villa 201

Hard to imagine when you look at our squad...

Full list:

I'd like to also see a table for player sales. I'd imagine Arsenal would top that.

Sorry, no such list atm. Yeah Man U or Arsenal would probably top that list

I'm glad with how we're doing things, its clear we dont want to end up with players like Warnock and Hutton over the coming years.

Shit players on big contracts that nobody will touch, i dont think anyone we've signed could be put in that bracket.

At little less risky yes but if it means we're not stuck with bad eggs then so be it.

I could see some Villa fans creaming themselves if we were QPR right now.

Love this.

There seems to an idea that if we don't sign young players from the lower leagues we're gonna end up with a load of shit on high wages that nobody wants.

Like its not possible to actually sign good players. People seem to trust Lambert but then have no faith he could sign quality proven players, very strange.

Exactly, I get a bit fed up with people saying 'oh look at Sunderland, Stoke and QPR, we'll get left behind' etc etc. We've been there, done that, and it didn't work. I'm much happier going for young British players and slightly more experienced overseas players.

Edit: removed. My personal opinion in this matter has nothing to do with football and has no place here

My bad...

Benayoun is a short term solution.

But in the desperate situation we're in I'd take him.

I'd rather have a short term solution playing in midfield than nobody if we can't sign a permanent player to play there.

And it's not like the Walker loan, for example, where we'd just be making someone else's player better and then sending them back to them

I have quite a few friends from Palestine, some are alive, some are not...

Not Benayouns fault of course, im sure he's a lovelly guy but i wan't nothing to do with his country.

I would (probably)not boycott if we signed him, but i would not cheer if he scored.

If this violated some rules on the forum im sorry and please remove the post asap

Say what! I have read some shit on these forums in the last few weeks but this must be a new low.

With us signing and playing so many youngsters, it makes me wonder what the average age of our playing squad is now?

Not transfer related, but we must be close to having a team/squad with the youngest average age in the Premier League?

What the ****? We don't sign a player over some pointless political argument?

Yes the Israelis have acted like utter bastards but the PLA, Hammas and Hezbollah aren't exactly a bunch of flower arranging pacifists....
