Mantis
To be fair to McLeish, he's the only one that got Ireland (arguably our best player) playing well.Yeah, and when Ireland finally did start playing well he got dropped. The only reason he's featuring now is because Keane's gone.

Ireland was playing well and I thought disrupting that for a player who was only going to be here a very short time was not the best way to go about things. John_Lerwill
Well, we wondered just how Alex McLeish came to be appointed. Some say it was due to a written recommendation from the Fergie, but I've just found an article written by Bill Howell in 2010 that refers to a book published that year, entitled "The Management, Scotland’s Great Football Bosses", by Michael Grant and Rob Robertson, which apparently points to the everlasting legacy of George Ramsay, effectively the first paid “manager” in world football. Well, that's fair comment. All we Villans knew about that!! :-) But Howell states that in that book, : "McLeish makes it in the 'Great Rangers Managers' chapter. Not at all bad when the likes of Busby, Shankly, Stein, Ferguson, Docherty, Dalglish, Souness, Graham and Walter Smith and Moyes are in the running." So, did Randy read the article/book?! Bill Howell article link.

I know he's not a winger but I'd much prefer him out on the wing as opposed to Heskey.
Morley_crosses_to_Withe
See Gabby "No goals in 12 games" Agbonlahor backing AMc in the press!? If the manager is doing such a great job, how come YOU haven't scored during the equivalent of a quarter of a season!?! Oh, either YOU'RE shit or his managerial style is stifling our forward play so which is it!?

keefa3011
I'm guessing Gabby did. If he did, it's either the same as Keane and he doesn't want to come across as a player who rocks the boat, or the players actually do believe Big Eck is doing a good job. If it's the latter it is very worrying indeed.

I think even when Gabby is 33 he'll still be starting off the season well getting us all excited that finally he's gonna "fulfill his potential" only for him to be shit for 3 quarters of the season yet again, its like Groundhog Season. We'll probably have Mcleish still then too doing press conferences "no, Im not a negative manager"..."But Alex you're in the conference now, fans are getting worried"....."No no, we play like Holland, for 1:34 seconds on that match we looked amazing didnt you see?" jon_c
Maybe Gabby's right we should get right behind McLeish. Lets spend the next match singing, ' Gabby Agbonlahor, he tracks back on the wing to cover the fullbacks.' It doesn't have the same ring. Or maybe we should write a series of McLiesh backing songs. 'For the love of God, hold on to that one-nil.'... or some songs about how happily we are looking forward to a draw.

Morpheus
Gabby has never ever struck me as being one of the more educated footballer's out there, so i'd much prefer to watch him playing football than listen to anything he has to say.

pacbuddies
Personally I wouldn't take much notice of anything Gabby says. He certainly wasn't at the front of the queue when brains were handed out and at school he was probably kicking a ball up the wall while the rest of the class were learning how to count to 10.
