I honestly think if we fail to make the 40 points total then Randy will sack him.

Be careful what we wish for however. The Villa job was much more attractive 12mths ago and we ended up getting turned down by Martinez and then opting for McLeish! I live in fear of them giving Bruce the job!

Realistically we would be looking to the Championship, SPL or raiding Norwich or Swansea.

Personally given the financial constraints and the makeup of our squad I think Ian Holloway would be worth a punt regardless of previous indiscretions.

Even though he called us a" half arsed club that used to be famous"?

If we were picking from the Championship it would be Mckay or McDermott for me.

I like McDermott but he would be a bigger risk.

Holloway has Prem experience and he will have learnt from that.

He has managed to regroup from relegation , despite the subsequent loss of their best players and serious budget constraints, and mount a promotion challenge. Most importantly he has achieved this by continuing to play attractive attacking football.

I don’t care what he called us. I don’t like the way he goes on but I like the football his teams play and would gladly listen to all his interviews in exchange for Villa playing his brand of football.

And what’s more I would love to see what he could do with our current players.

Brendan Rodgers would be my choice.

Good style of football and has got alot of potential IMO.

Would he leave Swansea for us though? Its a question you have got to ask. How low we have fallen

He has already said he wouldn't leave them for Chelsea.

Very easy to say when there's no offer on the table. A fairly empty gesture in that sense. In that hypothetical world I'm sure something would change his mind.

i would love Holloway. Fantastic Manager and good for a laugh

What?

Can you please explain to me how he is any better than Mcliesh and what your indeed basing this on?

Then should you pass that (which I very much doubt it) can you tell me what your basing it on that hes a fantastic manager?

Shite manager, total arsehole

Agreed

But so is McLeish. I think so little of our manager I would actually rather have Ian Holloway and if you had said that to me this time last year I would have laughed myself stupid.

The simple fact is Holloway is a better manager than McLeish and that is saying something. One thing is certain we would see much better football than the turgid dross we are treated to week in and week out at VP if Hollway was our manager.

Realistically though there are some good managers in the Championship - Adkins, Howe and O'Driscoll to name three. I'd much prefer a good young manager to some clown with 'premiership experience'. As we are finding there is experience and experience.

Holloway pissed me off when he said that but to be honest he has a point. We are half-arsed, look at what our owner and CEO have done to us this season. Look how bothered they are about our current state.

I would happily take any of Howe, Holloway or Adkins over McLeish.

Maybe so but he showed a lack of class and professionalism when he said it. He acted like a spoilt child.

Anyway it is probably irrelevant as I am sure due to the fact we are so "half arsed" if we approached him to be our manager he would turn us down flat!

.....or not!

Howe is a good shout too. There is Robinson at the MK Dons too. Although the issue with the young ones is them going up against the egos of premier league players.

tbh, I think a lot of ppl thought Holloway was a plonker before he said that. I certainly did. Him and Warnock seem to have this view that theyre seen as funny and a breath of fresh air for the majority of football fans. In all honesty Ive never met anyone who doesnt think they are both TITS

I am no fan of McLeish, but I would be interested to know what you are basing that on?

In order to have any chance whatsoever of convincing me of this nonsence, do you have any evidence that supports this?

True but I am not sure how attractive that job is to a young up and coming manager. Especially someone who has already experienced Abramovich. I also think if he did have a chance (which he most likely didnt) saying that going to Chelsea would destroy his career is a strong way to indicate you are not interested.

But you are right, money talks.

If we were looking at the championship I'd go for This chap

Absolutely with you on this one, before he starts getting too much press and is difficult to get in.

Also has the great chant of

'Who needs Maurinho, when we've got the physio.'

Him and Wenger alongside one another and it would be hard to tell the difference.

Don't know how you could question this, let alone call it nonsense.

Holloway's Blackpool performed really well to get promoted and in the Premier League given their budgets/wage bill etc.. They were also one of the most entertaining teams in the league. Compare this to McTool's performances with a much wealthier set up and Holloway compares very favourably.

I really dislike Holloway as a person but he's not a bad manager. I wouldn't have entertained the idea of him as Villa manager 12 months ago but right now I'm open to virtually anyone. Please, just let this nightmare be over.

Well Blackpool might have been the media's darlings for a year, but that doesn't hide the fact that they were hideously bad at defending, were a one man team, got relegated, and all Holloway had to say was ''oh well you know us, we can't defend, ho ho ho''. Pretty poor stuff if you ask me!

Ive seen everything from "I Signed bla bla bla from Brazil we should sign him at Villa"

So im not suprised by the response you gave to be fair and its easy coming out now and saying you were joking but if you were 'My Bad' :)

Holloway is definitely an arsehole (then again so is McLeish) but I think it's pretty clear that he's a far better manager than McLeish.

McLeish is not an arsehole. He's just a useless doughnut.

I think he is.

Blackpool had by far the least resources in the league IIRC. It would've been a minor miracle had they stayed up. SHA on the other hand definitely should've stayed up with the squad they had. Both SHA and Blackpool went down on 39 points. The only difference really was that Blackpool were exciting to watch where as SHA were mind-numbingly boring, just like we are right now.
