I hope we win more than ever tomorrow because we haven't won at home for three months.

That and the fact that I'm making yet another 6 hour round trip up to VP tomorrow.

Here is a novel thought.

If the fans actually attempt to support them team, instead of sitting in silence waiting for one of them to make a stray pass and then vent ultimate rage at the team - we may just do it.

The only time this season I have heard the fans support the team was Arsenal, now I know we lost it, but how well we played that day.

Just a thought.

Mate the people who dont like the McLeish generally stay away, so what you are actually saying is those who are tolerant of him are causing a poisonous atmosphere at Villa Park?

Nice on you.

..............................and as usual, everyones fault except McLeish who is supposed to set up, motivate and send out a team mentally, physically and tactically capable of winning the game.

What a crock of shite. There are huge numbers of mcleish haters who are still down at VP, fair play to you as you are genuinely staying away, but the notion that I've heard banded about on here (not necessarily from you) is that 90% of fans are against him, by your reasoning above VP attendances must be 90% down too leaving us other 10% to cause the poisonous atmosphere!

I think the fans have had the stuffing knocked out of them with what has happened in the last 18 months. If 30,000 turn up at Villa Park, surely that shows that the most of the home support has stood by the club? But, have the club stood by the fans? They put up ticket prices after a largely poor season last season, ignored our please over the employment of the new manager and then expected everyone to be full of joy!

I renewed my season ticket despite the fact I was very pissed off the with the club. I hoped that I would still get good value for my money and see some decent football. How wrong I was. The football has been the most boring I have seen in ages. I can accept us losing but not when we are gutless or sent out with a line-up or formation that makes you think "here we go again" before a ball has even been kicked. The fans have had nothing to cheer at Villa Park this season.

If the guys on the pitch gave their all I am sure the home fans would be more vocal.

The whole post is silly, but that bit tickled me. EVERYTHING is McLeish's fault. If the half time pies weren't hot enough, he'd get the blame.

And believe me, there are plenty of McLeish haters still going up VP.

In all honesty mate, what I wrote was a supposition. As you rightly say, I havent been there this season and do not intend to until I can renew my enthusiasm for the club. I still watch online and I posted previously that VP sounds like a graveyard, but was put right on here by someone who does attend who stated that this was down to microphone positioning.

I do think that the whole club would be better served if those who do not support McLeish stayed away. Either McLeish would be able to build a team with confidence that can perform at home free from hostility, or attendances would be so low he would be removed from post. Both would be more beneficial to the club then people turning up ready to boo the players.

So our biggest rivals are in the championship because of our current manager.

And now they're currently enjoying watching their team play decent football and scoring goals for fun because they don't have our current manager.

Its a joke.

Please Randy do us all a favour and **** off as soon as possible. You are an utter failure of an owner in this sport and we're going no where with you making the important decisions.

Our biggest rivals are in the Championship because they are shit and it is where they belong.

Their current manager knows how to get teams promoted, but I disagree that they play "good football" they play "winning football" - I wouldn't confuse the two.

As for your comment about the owner. Grow up you child - you weren't moaning with MON at the helm now were you?

houghton has only ever got one team promoted and that was when newcastle kept basically the whole team that went down.

those other at SHA have only been scoring goals for fun against poor teams, 6 at 9 man millwall and 4 at leeds who were poor.

if you want somebody to blame for all this try MON for wasting randys money on crap like harewood shorey salifou heskey etc

no doubt hughton is doing a greta job there but of course its a far lower and poorer standard of football

mcleish is awful though. i would have prefered hughton over mcleish thats for sure. the worse thing about it is we paid for mcleish and hughton w ecould have got for nothing

another great decision from randy lerner and clueless faulkner

hmm i would not have wanted houghton, it is easy looking at it now, and houghton was treated like shit by newcastle, getting them to 9th intheir first season back up.

i honestly think the decision to employ the current manager is down to faulkner, i think randy has given him the power MON once had, and he is **** it up even more.

not looking at things from a football point of view, but looking at it in terms of black and white on paper, trying to get future money projections based on when we were top 6 and thinking that by selling players and turning over a profit on the players will equate to more money being generated.

something a football person would not be silly enough to do, they would realise it is the whole package which is responsible for generating money, fans being kept excited, high profile activity ( in a positive way) players playing for their country ( gets other people supporting the club who may not have previously)

under randy, he did the acorns thing, it soon stopped once faulkner came in, while that is not a stick to beat him with it seems to me to be a small part of the 'black and white on paper' that faulkner seems to be rigid on.

if we can get rid of faulkner or have him as business manager and get someone in who actually knows something about football to make the player decisions/ contracts and so on, this club can start to move forwards.

employing people with no knowledge of a specialist profession is not a very clever thing to do.

Spot on. If we had a CEO with a better understanding of running a football club things would be a lot different. For me Faulkner is the root cause of alot of the issues at Villa Park.

We know he's out of his depth unless RL is happy with 9th at best although I personally doubt he can even manage that, now back to the pie's Mmmmm

As much as I have an opposing view with you regarding McLeish this response I agree with 100%, it's gotta be all about the club and getting the best and most confident performances out of the team. Not a likely scenario to get a moan free VP, never gonna happen, but we can dream!

i havent seen 1 poster who doesnt want him here say once that that is the reason they dont want him

i have heard all the footballing reasons why people dont want him but have yet to see anyone who doesnt want him here mention his previous club as the sole reason for not wanting him here.

the only people who seem to bring it up time after time are the ones who are supporting him

i support aston villa, i dont have to support the manager if i believe he is not good enough, i dont have to support faulkner if i believe he is one of the main reasons for the decline of our club on the pitch

because if to be an aston villa supporter you must like everything abut it, i can guess 85% of the fans in the 80's and 90's wouldnt then not be classes as aston villa fans as the feelings towards doug ellis was not one of love.

This is not my understanding. I have it from a very good source that McLeish was RL's choice and was always in pole position. God knows why - he must be very good at saying "yes" like the other people that RL seems to surround himself with.

I don't disagree with the getting rid of Fatty Faulkner though. An ideal board would consist of a Chief Executive with experience of running a £100 t/o + leisure business; a footballing man (like David Dien), a Finance Director who could work an excel spreadsheet (and as such add up wages and compare them to sensible revenue projections) and Nicky Keyes!

a win tonight and we go 8th it isnt too bad really.

we are not going to catch the top 6 so a win tonight and hopefully on sunday could possibly leave us 3 points behind newcastle who seem to be struggling

if our home record can pick up and start to match what we are like away then i see no reason why we cant realistically finish 7th or 8th.

if mcliesh finishes top 8 then can build his own team which can defend we may still have a bright future

If is a very big word in those terms. I'm sure if the the fans who don't rate the manager actually rated him they'd have the same way of looking at it I for one don't rate him, and am worried for what is in store in the next couple of years. I hope I'm wrong.

fair point but its not so much that i rate him highly but that when he was actually appointed i realised the fact is he is not getting sacked so need to focus on positives
