Some sort of flash sale they ran through the Daily Beast "shop" (which I guess is a new thing). I noticed it sells on Amazon for $325, so who knows wtf. Current RRP is £6250 yet on Chrono24 they are already going for above that. I have had Watches of Switzerland commit to getting me one at RRP - they have had to order it in though ! I would prefer a rubber strap but this one was the right price and I can always pick up a strap at a later date. I tried the 45 but it looked ridiculous on my girly wrists. Does it need a service? I probably would too but it’s the original strap so I’d kinda like to keep it as he had it. Bizarre to think he was presented it upon his retirement the year before I was born (1972). Full service done by Omega. They did a phenomenal job as it was looking very tired before they started. You have to be in the very good books of an authorised Rolex dealer, ie probably spent a fair bit with them in the year to date to get on the waiting list. Or be prepared to pay well over RRP for a second hand one. I've got the blue/black ("Batman") GMT, it's probably my favourite watch.
