I hate referee's and their weird idea that the rules of football change once the ball is in the area. How many pointless free kicks are given a game in the middle of the pitch for literally nothing more than a player getting themselves into trouble, before throwing themselves to the floor knowing the ref will give them a free kick.

Ref's need to man up and either play 'Penalty box rules' everywhere, leading to about 5 fouls a game and making the game flow much better; OR start dishing out 6 penalties a game to both sides playing 'Shitty running next to someone is a foul' rules.

I think Everton may give us a bit of a kicking at VP actually. If Gabby isn't fit, can't see us having a sniff.

is this the twice annual "Everton are going to win", then AG replies "No i think were going to struggle because of x" thread. I think it'll be a draw

Worst signing in Premiership history surely has to be Francis Jeffers to Arsenal. Mainly for the shock factor that no-one expected him to flop that much. I seem to remember at the time alot of people saying he was going to be the signing of the season.

Although we've made a couple which could certainly compete. Balaban aside, there's Djemba Djemba and Mattheiu Berson who could certainly be in contention. I know Berson wasn't a bad player, he couldn't settle in England - but he was still a bad signing.

Jo to Man City for 18m or whatever is a strong contender too. Along with Josemi to Liverpool; a right back who couldn't defend, or attack, or run, or tackle, or jump or pass.

I just saw that Franny Jeffers, at the ripe old age of 29 is currently unemployed. How the mighty have fallen.

Oh, and the worst signing in the Premier League has to be Schevchenko, surely? That cost Chelsea £30m in a transfer fee, £5.5m a year (£110k a week) for three/four years* in wages and the services of Jose Mourinho.

*depending on who paid his wages during his season on loan in Milan.

someone needs to beguin questioning your gaffers training methods if you keep getting 'bad luck' with injuries

It's nothing to do with training. They've had it all looked at by specialists. I think it's more something to do with players like Stephen Warnock tackling and injuring them... :x

Yes, when it happens at the start of every season then something is obviously wrong.

The injuries don't happen at the start of the season? Arteta - February, Yakubu - November, Jagielka - April, Fellaini - February, Anichebe - February, Osman - October, Pienaar - October, Neville - September, Distin - December, Rodwell - August.

Thats the main injuries that have happened over the last 2 years resulting in prolonged periods out, they are spread out and most of them come from challenges in a match or, less frequently, awkward landings (in Arteta, Jagielka and Distin cases).

It's no coincidence that we were the most fouled team last season and over the last three years, twice we have had the most fouled player in the league...maybe thats why we get so many injuries?!?

It's a sport that is predominantly played by men, it's meant to be played hard, although if you look at what they give away freekicks for today you would think it's a pink girly girly sport.

You're just lucky it wasn't Stuart Pearce takling him, he would have took his leg clean off.

How come other sides dont have the same number of continual injuries that you lot have?

Its not like its the same 2/3 players consistently either - so that would suggest theres something up.

It more than likely does stem from training methods too - leaving players weaker going into games where collisions & impacts are more likely to cause them an injury.

Perhaps Everton have very little 'live' training so they'd realistically get a lot of these sorts of injuries then as their players wouldnt be physically set for games.

They've had it analysed by specialists. They have had the training ground looked at, the training methods, style of training, times of training, they even kicked out the head of Sports Medicine and physiotherapy. Nothing has been flagged up.

Our players are fouled constantly and people kick them up in the air. The only club who have similar injury problems is Arsenal, Wenger has often said about them getting kicked up in the air too. I put it down to not getting enough protection from referees and thus the teams go in harder and harder on our players (I'm not saying this was the case with Warnock, that was tongue in cheek because the injury occured in that incident but in other games I feel this was definitely the case).

Hmm, I dunno, I reckon if you've got a screech lookalike in midfield throwing elbows into people, an Aussie who makes Bellamy look a calm and gentle character and are previous employers of Duncan Ferguson, a man so nuts he fought his own reflection and won, you kinda reap what you sow when you get the youngsters of your side getting a **** booting.

Yeah cos Fellaini throws elbows every game don't he? Doesn't make a difference what he looks like, and I'm not getting into a debate. Cahill, understandable but everyone hates him. Past players are exactly that, the past. It doesn't mean anything with regards to the way our players are treated now.

It's not youngsters though is it? It's all of them.

Maybe it's something to do with this..

David Moyes fears "Milk Devil"

In a recent interview it was revealed that David Moyes has never been a fan of the white stuff and has consequently banned all of his players from drinking milk. In a new training regime, the Everton players are now to substitute milk with water or Robinsons High Juice.

"It started when I was young", confessed Moyes. "I started drinking milk at a young age and always felt there was something strange about a drink that resembled paint".

"Besides it's appearance, I consumed bottle after bottle and became bloated in my appearance."

Moyes has explained that his concerns have been backed by science. "I attended a conference titled "Milk contains Germs" and that was enough to steer me clear of that devilish liquid forever"

Moyes admits that some players are not adhering to the rules but will be punished if this continues. "There will always be a few rebels amongst the team. I've seen a few lads sneaking a glass of milk in their cars." Moyes stresses, "But Cahill will not be laughing when he is sick over his shrimps."

Everyone now and then there is a club that suffers more with injuries that other clubs for an extended period of time. Looking back over the Premier League through the years there has always been clubs that have suffered, it was Spurs once upon a time, then Newcastle had a spell and West Ham now it seems its Everton.

Is it down to training or training methods or conditions? I think so sometimes, yes. For instance West Ham had a issue with players and hamstrings, Spurs I seem to recall with ankle injuries while Newcastle had a bad time with knee injuries. When there is a pattern in a series of injuries at a club it seems obvious to me that the training ground is the place people need to start looking for an answer.

In Everton's case, as an outsider looking in I've not seen a pattern so I'd be inclinded to think its not related to their training methods, even more so in light of what AG has said. So what else causes it?

Arsenal have as AG says had a bad run of things but I don't personally accept Wenger's conclusion that its because everyone kicks them and I don't accept it in regards Everton either.

In Arsenal's case they have a number of players like Walcott and Van Persie who are simply prone to injury and/or prone to the same injury happening time and time again. ie Walcott's shoulder. As such they are going to get more injuries.

In addition Arsenal's players, because of the type of players Wenger signs (small, thin, ball players) they are going to pick up more injuries than the more physical sides who sign strong physically robust players. That stands to reason.

What also stands to reason that the very style of play that Arsenal use is going to result in more injuries. Their entire game is built upon short quick passing, on drawing the man and by definition the challange and by exploiting the gaps that their style creates. Quite simply play that way and you are going to get tackled more, more tackles combined with the physical attributes of the Arsenal players will result in more injuries. Quite simple really. In short Wenger is in part responsible for the problems his way and needs to shut up moaning and remember the days he had the most physical side in the league with the worst disciplinary record ever.

So back to Everton, they aren't Arsenal, don't play like Arsenal and I personally don't think they get kicked as much as a result as Arsenal. I don't think they get kicked any more than most sides to be honest so that doesn't explain it either.

So what does? Well if you sign a player like Saha with his history you are going to get more injuries with him than most but again that doesn't account for the run they have had. So its not like what happened 2 years ago at West Ham where they signed Dyer and Ljungberg then moaned about injuries.

So what does that leave? Just bad luck.

If you ask me Everton have just had a prolonged spell of bad luck.

Fellaini is a dirty ****. I dont care whether you want to get into a debate, a debate is where you can actually back up your idea to disprove the other. I'd say he's got his elbow in someones face 9 games out of 10. I think you might do well to step back and see both parts to an argument involving Everton... Granted I've not read every post of yours however a quick glance over the past few pages and its how Everton were robbed by the ref against Wolves, then poor Everton are getting kicked and referees arent doing anything about it... etc.

You've got some nasty, horrid little **** in your squad who do more than a good job of kicking other players - Fellaini & Cahill are just two of those. I believe you get what you get because teams know they're in for a physical, aggressive game against you lot so give it back given the chance. Trouble is, you've got a team who can give it, but clearly can't take it.
