Leeds will be fuming It's a tough punishment, just so happens that the bottom half of the league is crap this year anyway so it's pretty much a slap on the wrist for any half-decent club. You'd imagine the relegated clubs will be fuming anyway, whether at Everton or the Premier League in general, since it was much closer last season. This verdict could open a very large can of worms. Then you have the implications for the Man City and Chelsea cases, which Everton will now be watching closely... Not the up in their mythical stuff we have now. Everton have a 10 point deduction for apparently a 20 million fudge of FFP. So we equate every 2 million over budget is a 1 point deduction. Teams can chose to go over the threshold but know where they stand. City have 110 breaches which is probably in the 100s of millions over budget. So will be deducted accordingly. Chelsea likewise. Probably a few other clubs too. The amount of spend would need to be agreed by all clubs pre this coming to pass. It should then level the spend on the team so it's equal for everyone not those that have the biggest sponsorship deals or stadiums. Obviously not all clubs could spend the agreed amount but the option is there should they wish to. They've been punished this season for offences given in years past where other clubs have got relegated. Let's hope those clubs are able to go legal and get some justice from Everton that way. Everton are still showing no contrition and no admitance of guilt at all. Surely that has to factor as well? If they aren't sorry then they'll just do it again. They're. to some degree rightly, pointing at Man City and trying to draw equivilence but what are they saying? Do they want their punishment suspended until City get punished too? The Premier League actually wanted something like this (on a lesser scale) for this case: the commission rejected it. Would have led to a 9 point deduction for Everton. They started investigating this last season. There was a whole “will they, won’t they” over whether the punishment would be in time to **** them over last year. I think the team that finished 18th last year has to have a very strong case to say that the leagues inability to get this done quickly relegated them. But they have to investigate properly - same way that the charges r.e: Man City will take ages. The leagues will be so susceptible to being sued if anything is remotely wrong.
