Wasn't he out of work when we went for McLeish? again it's baffling..

Fair play to Fulham/Jol they had a good season and look to be building it on (even if they lose Dempsey I still think they'll be ok next season and Jol will probably spend the money properly)

Bolton have realised 12 players, nobody worth our interest:

Bolton Wanderers allow 15 players to leave after relegation

Fifteen players have left Bolton Wanderers following their relegation from the Premier League, while Kevin Davies has signed a new one-year deal.

The striker and defender Sam Ricketts, who has agreed a two-year deal, are the only players to commit to the club.

Negotiations with Jussi Jaaskelainen and Zat Knight are ongoing.

Ricardo Gardner, Gretar Steinsson and Ivan Klasnic are among those released, while Nigel Reo-Coker has activated a release clause in his contract.

Paul Robinson, Sean Davis, Robbie Blake, Mark Connolly, Tope Obadeyi, Rhys Bennett, Dino Fazlic and Tom Eckersley have also not been offered new deals.

Meanwhile, Tuncay, Ryo Miyachi and Dedryck Boyata have all returned to their parent clubs after reaching the end of their loan spells at the Reebok Stadium.

Manager Owen Coyle told the club website: "I was clear with Nigel [Reo-Coker]. I asked him straight away whether he wanted to be a part of what we are going to do next season.

"He was honest and up front with us, because that is the type of man that he is, and said that he wanted to exercise the clause in his contract, so we wish him well.

"I would also like to thank the players that are leaving the club for their work at Bolton Wanderers. We wish them all well."

Chairman Phil Gartside told BBC Radio Manchester on Monday that he expected several players to leave and added that the wage budget could be halved as the club prepare for life in the second tier for the first time since 2001.

Suprised by Klasnic, he'd get a few goals in Championship. Despite being a nutter.

1 decent season and now he thinks hes too big. Just like charlie adam.

Or at 31 having spent the majority of his career in League 1/2, he sees this as his last/only chance of getting some big money.

Absolutely. The very worst he is going to get out of this is a large pay rise from Norwich.

Also Martin O'Neill likes paying over the odds for slightly above average English based players because his scouting network is non existent. :P

if we get a manager he could be a good signing a backup to Bent, good impact player for Bolton and never really complained when wasnt a starter

Craig Gordon released by Sunderland as nine players leave

Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon is one of nine players released by the Premier League club.

Gordon signed from Hearts in August 2007 for £9m - breaking the British transfer record for a goalkeeper - but was out of contract this summer.

Fellow goalkeepers Trevor Carson and Lewis King are also departing.

The other players to go are Liam Bagnall, Jordan Lavender, James Brace, Brett Elliott, Jordan Cook and Oumare Tounkara.

Gordon - who has won 40 caps for Scotland - made 95 appearances in five years, having struggled with injuries and inconsistency.

He broke an arm twice then suffered a knee tendon problem and anterior cruciate ligament damage, the latter ruling him out for eight months from April 2011.

Belgian Simon Mignolet has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper with Keiren Westwood, signed last summer as a result of Gordon's injury troubles, his understudy.

Gordon made just one appearance in 2011-12, against Bolton last month, and Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has decided the Scot no longer figures in his plans.

Wow, that's a shock, releasing a keeper that cost 9m. Definitely worth a punt.

Craig Gordon has had some terrible luck with injuries. Still only 29 so still has time on his side I guess. However he looks like going the same way as Chris Kirkland who never reached the heights expected due to being scuppered by injuries.
