Watched Dortmund tonight, awful again. If ever a team needed some sense of direction, it's them. Defensively all over the shop, hit and miss going forward, great when stuff comes off.

Surely Haaland will be off PDQ if things don't improve. Then they will be buggered.

Its unsurprising, Mats Hummels is one of the most overrated footballers of the last 10/15 years. Has always got a mistake or a lapse of concentration in him. His return to Dortmund has been a disaster financially and sporting

Hummel's should be the defensive leader but he just looks clueless. I know they're missing Witzel but that's no excuse for the mess they're in. Deus looks a pale shadow of the player he was a couple of years ago.

There's their problem

Older influential players who don't give a shit and younger players with little influence

Their next managerial appointment is huge, maybe missed a trick with Poch but time will tell

Not implausible that they don't get CL

Mainz beat leipzig, everyone doing their best to gift it to bayern again

Bayern at it again, buying 2nd place leipzigs Upamecano for £40m

Red Bull clubs always seem to have a buy out clause in their contracts. Great to see he doesn't end up at another PL side.

Edit: We should try and nick whoever Leipzig are looking at to replace him unless they already signed him. Upamecano and Konaté both been fantastic. Wonder if they go for Benoît Badiashile now or if they look at someone even less established.

Sounde like arsenal tried last year and then Chelsea and Liverpool have tried to negotiate some sort of a deal but bayern have come in and just said yes to what he wants, no bartering or anything

Was a buy out clause. If you compare squads you would see Dortmund have raided Bundesliga teams more than Bayern in recent seasons

Bit of a tussle in the Dortmund game where the ref missed a blatant FK and a Hoffenheim players goes down injured, play goes on and Dortmund win the ball and scores. Haaland along with 4 other Dortmund players bitch and argue with a Hoffenheim player. No real fault with Dortmund as there was no call but the ref made a clanger.

To be fair Hoffenheim had the ball for quite a while after the foul. I assume the ref just played advantage. Expecting Dortmund to kick the ball out when they had plenty of opportunity to do it themselves is pretty silly.

Exactly, Dortmund didn't do much wrong, but the ref did. Can see why Hoffenheim are miffed but should be aimed at the ref.

I don’t think the ref did anything wrong either. Hoffenheim still had the ball so he played the advantage. Hoffenheim were on the break and then 3 further players touched the ball before Dortmund won it back. Not sure Hoffenheim have much to be complaining about at all.

Think he missed a blatant free kick on the Hoffenheim player who went down injured.

The ref hasn’t missed that, he’s clearly played advantage. It’s dreadful from Hoffenheim to give the goal away how they have and they’ve got nobody to blame other than themselves. They could have just put it out of play themselves in the dozen or so touches they had before they gave away the goal if they wanted to.

Marco Rose to take over Dortmund in the summer. Good appointment that.

Guess at least one poster here will be less than happy about it.

They got their man despite the fact they may miss out on the Champions League.

So what are BVB supposed to do?

It'll be interesting to see how they do with Rose. Seems a better fit than Favre for the club. It'll be very difficult to put up any sort of challenge to Bayern without CL qualification, considering they'd most likely lose some of their better players. I imagine Sancho will leave either way though - unfortunately for less money than was possible last summer - but they'll be hoping to keep the likes of Haaland, Reyna etc. and invest some money in the defence. Akanji just isn't quite good enough and I wonder if they'll look to replace Hummels if they can shift him.
