Went shopping for a dining table today.

**** me, how are a few bits of wood nailed together so **** expensive?!

The only other dining table I ever bought in my life was £85 from IKEA and it included 4 chairs.

Today was eye opening

There is so much in life where I can't understand how some stuff can possibly be so expensive, and other stuff I can't understand why or believe it's so cheap.

But yeah, furniture. Bits of wood banged together, maybe coated in a bit of material and padding. That's several hundreds of pounds please.

Oh,and most of the time I don't even start making it till I know I've got a sale.

You can make one pretty easily and cheaply. Do you have a mitre saw?

Standard VT lately though.

I guess it could be because people can't moan about the football or manager lately, so divert their boll***s  elsewhere.

You’re better off buying second hand. Buy a good piece of well made furniture second hand and not only are you getting something much better than a disposable IKEA thing for less money, you’re not using any resources at all.

I never buy furniture like a table new. Facebook market place, got a £1800 solid wood table and those posh chairs with knockers on the back for £500, like new. Was £650, but they were moving and wanted a quick sale as it wouldn't fit in there new house. Jobs a gooden!

Greetings cards are the worst bang for buck going.

I ordered a couple from Amazon yesterday, both just under £3 each. How has nobody undercut these crooks and started selling them at 20p each and still had a healthy profit?

Where have nipples been discussed? I seem to have missed that topic entirely… was it inspired by Alex Scott?

I've been looking for a while too, I can understand and admire the craftsmanship and quality that goes into a really nice table and wouldn't mind paying more not to have to put it together myself but in the end I just thought **** it and got one for £169 on Amazon in the sale.
