mtb_wm
why the hell was Delph starting anyway?!? Because he is an exceptional talent who is going to be a big, big player for us. That's why. He has obviously came here and impressed - he slotted in just fine against Fiorentina. He has played 45 mins of Premiership football. Give him a chance. KSV
Problem is we lack any spark upfront.. Gabby and Heskey need to be fed and its not happening. They cant create anything themselves.. Tuncay wouldnt actually be a bad signing.. but hey were not interested in him either.. We need creative players.. VDV Tuncay bring them in. Look at Heskeys replacement at Wigan.. fucken screamer of a goal...
reddwarf
Local radio says carew was named as a sub - but injured his foot in the warm up. Sounds highly unlikely, he looked well pissed off against florienta , rumours are that he and heskey squared up to each other in a peace cup match - more likley he's pissed after averaging 1 goal in 2 games last season - that a bloke who has 2 in 13 - gets in the team ahead of him........and can you really blame him. this is a weaker side that drew 0-0 with wigan last season. He has obviously came here and impressed - he slotted in just fine against Fiorentina. I wasn't criticising Delph and I am a massive fan of his, but he shouldn't have been starting because he has no experience at this level and he's been thrown in the deep end way too early. I don't understand why we didn't start NRC cos he's been solid in pre-season. Delph should be worked in slowly, just like Milner was

dont_do_it_doug.
Oh well blow me down, Cuellar and Davies ARE hopeless, Delph isn't a replacement for Barry, the Peace Cup was just a pre-season jolly, and O'Neill hasn't got a clue what he's doing. Just as I've said all along. You know all that based on 45 minutes of football? Impressive. You're in the wrong job.
shambles
This thread is laughable. MON will sort them out at half-time. We have Beye and Delph making their league debuts. Relax. I'm sick of MON having to sort things out at HT. How about sorting things out before KO, or even (heres a radical idea) before the season starts. You think it is highly unlikely that Carew injured his foot while participating in physical exercises and think it is more likely that he is frozen out for having a fight with Heskey who in your opinion is unjustly stealing Carew's place in the squad? You have a very active imagination lad.
