A friend of mine is producing a short film at the minute and I am dreading the screening. I will have to tell her the truth. Luckily she is pragmatic enough to realise that she has very little actual control over the artistic output.

I'll just tell her it seemed well organised, the locations were great and that the lead actress clearly enjoyed her lunch and leave it at that!

Watched Back to the Future earlier in preparation for my fancy dress effort on Saturday.

Absolute classic. Mental that it's 30 years old now :(

I'll watch number 2 tomorrow night.

Shame the 3rd one spoilt the trilogy.

3rd one just as good as the other 2. All 3 very different films but excellent in their own right.

Just a little discrepancy about the extra delorean.

Nah, the 3rd one is crap in comparison. Out of sync with the other two and full of cheap gimmicks.

Its not a terrible film but its nowhere near as good as the first two.

It's a 7/10 following up from two 9/10 movies. Definitely doesn't deserve a lot of the criticism it gets, it's a good movie in it's own right, but certainly not as good as the first two.

Just watched The Babadook. It was okay, nothing special. The woman and the boy were great, but the story was pretty meh.

20,000 Days On Earth about Nick Cave is premiered on Film 4 tomorrow night (Friday!) at 1105pm

Couldn't get to see this at the cinema and have wanted to watch this for ages!

I don't think you'll be disappointed.

It's utterly fantastic. I watched it with my wife and she didn't know too much about him or his music and she really enjoyed it.

And you know as it's him, it's anything but a straighforward 'Roc Doc'.

On a sort of related theme

Have you seen Cobain- Montage of Heck ?

Looks like it could be quite decent though it's a documentary rather than a film

i dunno about rocket man, i've seen some things on Hardy struggling because he really cant sing so that will be interesting but then its a film by elton's own film company, with elton as executive producer, cant imagine it being cock on the block really saying something interesting about him, it'll be an advert for the greatest hits album that gets released at the same time...

but yeah, he's one of about 5 english actors with the world at their feet at the moment

he's also got a westerner directed by the birdman director and with leonardo di caprio out this year (around oscar season no doubt) according to wiki - In the 19th century, Hugh Glass (DiCaprio), a fur trapper, is mauled by a bear while hunting. His companions (Hardy, Poulter, and Gleeson) rob him and leave him to die, but he survives and sets out to get revenge on the men who betrayed him - im pretty much sold on that already

I like Hardy but Mad Max looks awful and his accent in Child 44 was absolute dreadful so he needs to really up his game now. The western sounds a little bit like a remake of Hang em High

as for the krays, will he be as good as the Kemp brothers
