Out of the furnace ...hours of my life wasted .....for such a great cast the film was just utter dog shit

3/5

3/5 is dogshit?

what sort of shit is 1/5, given that an above average mark is labelled dogshit?

Mishima - A Life in Four Chapters

  :thumb:

Probably one of the most unique biopics I've ever seen.

I knew nothing of Mishima or his work before seeing the film, so went into it with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised.

The performances, the cinematography, the direction, the soundtrack, all brilliant.

What's the ending like?

He commits seppuku.

a 1/5 would be battlefield earth

Out of the furnace gets marks for the cast, bales acting was decent ...casey assflick was ok ...but the story was so weak,  it was the slowest of slow burning films 4 people walked out after an hour the plot/ending was obvious in the first ten minuets ..characters could have been developed more to make it a good film

I know that.

:) I wondered how they portrayed it with the decapitation problems afterwards.

I can recommend Mr peabody and Sherman  ... some great historical gags that may be lost on kids  ... but worth taking them to , or going to Portugal and picking one up from there if you haven't got any of your own to take

Dallas buyers club is pretty damn good isn't it.

Also watched lone survivor today, that was brilliant as well

Going to stick on 12 years a slave when DBC has finished

Lone Survivor was actually better than I thought it would be.

The middle third is absolutely breathtaking, and some of the finest (and grittiest) action scenes on film. My only problems with it was the rather feeble attempts at giving the characters some background and depth in the first third (it could have been done so much better within the time constraints) and I found the final third a bit of a letdown with a couple of cliched moments.

Decent watch though no doubt.

hitchcock - good

spring breakers - rubbish

Have you got Now TV? They both came on there recently.

I only got 20 mins in Spring Breakers before I turned it off.

Watched 'White House Down" last night, or "Die Independence 24 Lethal Day Weapon Rock Hard" as I've renamed it.  Every single action movie cliché you've ever seen in one film. 4.5/10
