I think so d'you wanna bet against us?

For the title? Of course, how much you wanna bet?

We are looking very likely for top 5 as we have done most of the season.

That will be amazing and surpass all expectations.

We are absolutely not in a title race. Not in any realistic way.

I know they're all playing tomorrow but to be just 5 points off 1st at this relatively late stage of the season is a real achievement.

Agreed. Although the 3 above us all have 2 games in hand so it's not really 5 points. But even to be within 10 points at this stage is some going.

It really, genuinely is. I honestly think if we'd been luckier with injuries (same for many teams) this season we wouldn't be talking about 'only' making the top 4, but something historic and Leicester-esque.

Time to trot out ‘but had we beaten forest’

It would've been cool to go top at some stage, Sheffield United was ultimately that moment and we lost momentum for about six weeks from not winning that match so there lies the lesson for possible future seasons.

Yep it absolutely is. It’s unreal.

tbh, if you look at the data, it was the Sheff utd draw where our form has dropped off slightly since then, so the last 12 ish games or so.

its not a huge drop off, but it is defo a noticeable drop off.

In reality tho, you could argue the pre Sheff Utd form was far, far above what we could have reasnably expected, so maybe the post Sheff Utd form is more....realistic?, and the pre Sheff Utd form was operating at above our sustainable/expected level.

... or simply sustained. Difficult enough for the 3 (ONLY 3!!) teams above us to keep winning game after game.

If we hadn't lost Pau to injury and Kamara to suspension vs Brentford we might well have had another 5 points at this stage.

After today a wee win at man city would make things interesting  🤔

Yeah you would have to think Liverpool have a great chance to end the Man City monopoly if we did.

The cheats will prosper yet again though.

City must be third favourites now.

We're actually the most difficult game they have left in the league, so if they beat us, you'd expect maximum points for the rest of the season. An interesting aspect is that they haven't got a better goal diff. than the 2 above them. You'd have to say they're still favourites going by history and fixture list.
