Pau at LEFT BACK??

Actually I can kind of see it. Try Cash in the more attacking role as he hasn't gotten to play that under emery. Mings will be on the left side when in a back 4 and in the centre in a back 3.

Yeah I assume so! Mings does play LB from time to time.

Very interesting… excellent option if Pau is comfortable there…

I think Mings said something about no longer being suited to LB and how it caused injuries or something… we need him in the centre with his aerial prowess and strength…

All for it, bit of a surprise but what an option… has he played there before?

Pau I mean.

Interesting to see us move away from last seasons system where we had four midfielders, in that box shape with Moreno becoming the winger to a starting system that has two wingers and then Cash joining midfield to make the box when we go forward.

Emery does brilliant things where he adjusts given the personnel he has available, it'll be fascinating to see if we change back when Ramsey and Moreno are available again.

Interesting backline that!

How will it work I wonder?

Who is playing where?

I think either Pau or Tyrone will be playing as a 'centre' back out on the left, rather than as a full back.

So, with the ball:

----------------------Martinez--------------------

------Konsa-------Mings-----Pau------------

------------Cash----------Kamara-------------

----------McGinn---------Luiz-----------------

----Diaby--------------------------------JPB---

----------------------Watkins-------------------

And without:

----------------------Martinez--------------------

Cash------Konsa-------Mings--------Pau

------------Luiz----------Kamara-------------

Diaby-----------McGinn----------------JPB

----------------------Watkins-------------------

I think Mings will play LB and Pau and Konsa in CB. Cash will attack more but it'll be interesting if Philogene plays LM and McGinn RM and Diaby up top with Watkins or if we're going more Pau in LB and inverting into midfield. McGinn playing off Watkins and Philogene and Diaby playing as wingers

It'll be very interesting for sure

Didn't even think of it this way. Sounds more likely.

I think Pau inverting into Midfield from LB more likely than Cash inverting from RB given their different strengths

Maybe, Pau certainly has ability on the ball, but Cash has played a season in central midfield and I don't think is a natural as a third centre back.

I'd guess it's the same system just flipped? Torres defensive and Cash can push forward.

I see this as well, this really suits JPB profile as well as he will really support Cash on the defensive side.
