Villatillidie95
Does anyone think that he will want to get Kang? Obviously we were looking at him in the previous window, Alemany was at Valencia and now kang is at mallorca where a certain Mr Mateu has many connections

I think the club will be acutely aware that this is a young attacking minded player who has plenty of experience at a decent level for his age. Additionally, he is a South Korean international and i think the club will be thinking that he can contribute a heck of a lot of revenue and increase the commercial opportunities if Unai Emery and Co can coach him further and develop him into a consistent premier league player. Popular Post Beastmix
To be fair, tidying up the mess at Barcelona was like tidying up the radioactive rubble at Chernobyl, requiring extremely calculated movements and they trusted him with that... and he did what they asked him to do. He was brilliant at Valencia, a club tied up in a massive financial and bureaucratic nightmare (despite having a rich owner). They'd have been in the situation they're currently in - fighting relegation - a few years ago if it wasn't for him steadying the ship for a while. He had nothing to do with either of these club's issues. Real Madrid wanted him. He was exceptional at Mallorca, delivering many players who would go on to become huge stars elsewhere, making the club a lot of money in the process. The club's president stepped aside because he believed Alemany would do a better job and to prevent him from leaving for Madrid. He believed in him that much. The man's record speaks for itself. Nothing but success and remedying complicated scenarios. I'm not calling him the 2nd coming, but I'm not completely sure why anybody would be questioning this appointment. Villatillidie95
We will also be using Benito as our Spanish based scout and the fact that we have Alemany's connections in many different clubs will help us to recruit both young prospects and seasoned pros from La Liga

Popular Post KMitch
The most successful businesses hire the best people and give them the space, time, and resources to do their job well. You've always gotten the feeling from NSWE that they've truly embraced this philosophy when it comes to Aston Villa, but when you see Emery's transformation of the squad on the football pitch exceed all expectations so far, you knew it was only going to be a matter of time before we went after someone else of his caliber for the front office. Villa are one of the top 20 biggest clubs in the world and for the first time in a very long time we're finally starting to act like it. I'm truly over the moon to hear about Alemany coming to the club and it really feels like we're making a push to be a top 4 club again.

Pretty sure that's their attempt at beating FFP. Get free transfers in no matter the signing bonus, salaries or contract length and then try and flog them for as much as possible as soon as possible. And also try bully them into lower their salaries as soon as they've signed the contracts they offered to outbid other clubs. You know, because La Liga are evil and everyone is a meanie. wishywashy
This sort of thing is presumably why he's leaving Barca to join Villa. The fact he's being replaced by one of Laporta's mates (who doesn't even have any experience as a sporting director) says it all. That makes two clubs in a row where Alemany has had to run a sporting department almost in spite of the interference of those above: Laporta at Barca and the infamous Lim at Valencia. The promise of much more control here and working for people with their heads on Earth rather than Jupiter (and the truckloads of money) was an offer probably too good to refuse. The fact he's still been a success and well-liked at both clubs despite the circumstances also bodes very well: what can he do when he isn't constrained by foolish powers above him? CVByrne
I don't think he'll have a huge impact this window. I'm sure a lot of our transfer business has been planned for months now and hopefully we make early signings too
