Guendouzi is the only name so far that i think VASTLY improves our starting 11. His Profile, Age, aswell as friendship with Bouba and Emery is what makes this. if we dont get him, then its too bad, but id rather we take our time to either go again after him in the summer, or carefully consider a player who has similiar qualities, for significantly less money. this relies hugely on good scouting but i trust the Sultan of Unai to get it right. Ziyech: While i rate him as a player, he would come at a decent fee and a hefty wage for 29yr old. pretty much the same as what we have let go in Ings. Ive neither heard of him or ever seen him play. sign him up. seriously though.. its obviously a whole scouting departments job to identify these players.. if they/unai feel like these guys have the raw materials to then be coached by Don Emery (Bit like Jhon Duran)... im all for it, rather than signing the next cab of the rank like Ziyech. burchy Posted January 25, 2023 Share Posted January 25, 2023 It’s strange as I feel Durans purchase was the recruitment teams and not Emery’s. Obviously he approved it but from the way Duran spoke about his interactions with Emery it came across as if he had limited involvement. I think we’re potentially seeing a double process going on at the moment. Academy and up and coming = recruitment team and others like Moreno and potentially Guendouzi being Unai’s picks. I would also through a senior striker in there as well being Unai’s pick.
