He really should be a squad player with Mahrez or Grealish being pushed out in the next season or two. When you are a player of his supposed ability sit tight and a Champions League club comes calling which is exactly what happened. 5 years ago he'd have been going to Spain but the game has changed and the big 6 are now hoovering these players up unless Bayern/Dorrmund are interested. sne Posted January 21, 2022 Author Share Posted January 21, 2022 After last season he (Alvarez) was seen as a exiting prospect but I doubt even his mom would have expected him to have the development he's had this season. He's absolutely exploded which means a new level of clubs are serious about him. I think we could have gotten him if we pushed the deal last summer but we went in another direction.
