One dynamic people haven’t considered is the Sauds run the Middle East. Aramco on Man City shirts? Etihad on Newcastle shirts? Not outside the realms of possibility. It would have been excellent if we got a DM as well, but I think Gerrard is happy with the options he's got if the right player can#t be brought in today. The only blemish is Targett leaving, and not because of his ability, or even where he's going for me, but it just seems an odd move without a specialised replacement. Young can fill in, but ultimately this would leave us with only one dedicated left back, which is odd considering Gerrard wanted more competition there.
