Phil Silvers
This could be a rout. We dangerous, a little raw though, very exciting. Burnley woeful.
BOF Posted November 22, 2021 Author Moderator Share Posted November 22, 2021 I'm hoping Gerrard sees PL2 promotion as an important part of developing the players I know, I know. We've talked about this. I just want it that's all.

MWARLEY2
They are just so inventive in their build up. The other teams are so functional that we play. Play the percentages and get something from a set piece. Our lot just play in loose positions but then are allowed to express themselves and make mistakes. Carney and Jaden the 2 most skillful. Cam and Caleb the 2 most direct . And Iroegbunam and Lindley can do the dirty stuff and pass brilliantly. So much balance to the team in midfield and upfront despite them all being so talented. It is a priviledge to watch them on a shit stream

Not able to watch but following along on twitter... I absolutely love JPB. Would love these two plus Archer to get involved a bit more with first team. Maybe as the schedule picks up a bit that will happen.

Popular Post OutByEaster? Posted November 22, 2021 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted November 22, 2021 Strange game in that I didn't feel that we ever really got going, there wasn't any consistency or fluency to most of our stuff, especially in the second half when the midfield did too much dribbling and not enough passing - but - we have individuals that can do things that other teams can't cope with at this level. Carney Chukwuemeka is capable of things that these defences cannot deal with, Caleb is powerful, Cameron direct and JPB a livewire - when we click, even if only for a moment, we look like scoring. As it was we've won 4-1 without clicking all that often, against a good side, that's the measure of the quality of some of our individuals. Good to see so many of the staff in attendance. Everyone that was on the first team bench at the weekend was there, along with Lange, Delaney, Boateng and Jedinak - I reckon you could get a pretty decent five-a-side team out of 'em. Gerrard gave us a bit of a wave and got a smattering of applause when he arrived, and there seems a good mood around the camp - a big hug between Boateng and McAllister before kick off was nice to see and I almost caught Delaney on video singing 5ive's Keep on Movin' and having a little bit of a boogie pre-kick off - a lucky escape for him. I'm going to pick up on a couple of players, both very good ones and both for their mentality. Firstly Carney Chukwuemeka - I don't think Carney Chukwuemeka quite realises how good he can be, he lights these games up with touches; a sway, a pass, a bit of movement, he was excellent tonight - but for me there's a lot more to come - the next step for him is to completely own these games, to dominate them from start to finish, he has the ability to do that - to score twenty goals in a season at this level, to create twenty assists, to make the idea that he's playing U23 football laughable - at the moment he does enough so that you know he's brilliant, but I'd like to see him take total control, his ceiling is massive. Secondly, Josh Feeney, this kid flaps so little he'd pass the FIA's rear wing tests, he's tall, quick, calm, confident and a quite brilliant defender and he's just sixteen years of age. At that age, I could barely thank a bus driver, you'd trust this kid to look after a nuclear power station - he's a good communicator and organiser, he makes brilliant decisions and he battles away in tackles. I really do think he can be extraordinary. Whack a fiver on him becoming England captain and thank me in 2028. And a mention for Burnley who are a decent side and looked lively. Licky Lemon, wait sorry, Michael Mellon up front for them looked a real handful and I thought their number 5, Jake Rooney looked a decent player. It's always good to see Jacob Bedeau pop up again even though, like me on the fourteenth from a hundred yards, he's already on his fourth club and no one's quite sure what's going to happen next. They played well at times I thought and gave us a fair contest. Also, my apologies to the number two for the gingerist remark. The first of the cold ones at Bodymoor and a very satisfactory evening - goals, moments of genius, players with huge potential, a bit of star spotting and a fine result. Bring on the Toon.

He was in a boot and with a crutch, he seems in very good spirits though, he was laughing with the other players and with Delaney and he got down to the touchline to give the waters out at half time. From his mood, I'm hopeful that it's not too serious an injury, I'd also say that considering he was in a boot, he seems really positive and a very good man to have around the place. Hopefully nothing that keeps him out for too long.

AndyClarke
What a play Tim Iroegbunam is by the way, he sometimes gives the ball a way but invariably wins it back, never loses a tackle, great vision and loves the ball deep so he can turn and get up the park. I guarantee Gerrard loved him tonight.
