My point was more that since the introduction of VAR, match officials will have no doubt adjusted their habits with the ‘safety net’ of VAR in use.

If the decision was old school and made in real time with no technological back up, he may have flagged, of course we’ll never know but it’s another element of the fallout of VAR in terms of its effect on the fabric of the game.

if it happened in the future, if anything Smith has mainly got the big results when it mattered for Villa.  Moyes at Everton always came up short in the big games, think he had about 4 wins over United and Liverpool combined when they were nearly always chasing top 6

Sure, but we were chasing a top 8 finish at one point this season, the same way West Ham were chasing top 4.  Unfortunately both of us have fallen under the pressure of the run in.
