I don't subscribe to the slagging off of Leeds.....They are a good side.

We beat them, with a real savvy performance.......lets just move on.

We are Aston Villa, lets remain gracious.

Fair play with this post and much respect 👏

Buuuuuuut, they do make it hard to not have a few digs at them.

All I have seen from their 'fans' tonight is that it was a sh** game, we were lucky, Targett should have seen red (ignoring Klich should have seen red before) blah blah...

The rest are nowhere to be seen after a defeat. Honestly every time it happens. Silence.

F*** em!

Ps superb battling performance by the lads tonight, well done Smith for getting the energy back in the midfield which let's face it we ALL knew was key.

Sorry Delph but all Nakambas stats are better than the players you mention.  Better tackling success, more individual duels won, better passing success, more turnovers, more interceptions.

His role is to defend, and he was the best at that tonight, and 45% of fans agree he was motm, more than double any other player.

Ditto

He is a specialist....he just does one job, in a team of 11

but boy, he does it well.

I thought the defence was awesome too.

It’s terrifically satisfying that we have these options and competition. I think Dougie will find himself out for a while, which is great, I think he can find another level and this might be just what he needs. Hopefully the same goes for Nakamba too, he was robotically good tonight. Personally, I’d love to see more of Nakamba, I love players who make the game and their role look overly simple, I always thought that of Darren Anderton (who I watched every week while a student in Portsmouth).

I hope Nakamba now becomes a serious contender....not just a forgotten man.

this is a squad and we need certain faces for certain games....and this was evident.

He has shown his credentials tonight and the team needs them at times....the midfield had balance and numbers.....it was much more believeable to me.

i often talk about balance.....i saw it tonight.

Horses for courses. He was very good tonight and while there’s always a place for a player like him there’s an argument that in games like the next one against Sheffield United a more attacking option may be better. Having said that we always need to earn the right from a solid base to be able to control the game and let the more creative players play. As you rightly say it’s all about balance, we got it right today, long may that continue.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow @TRO A very fitting victory and a excellent solid defensive display which I know you would have a loved to see!

I was heartened particularly by Nakamba's performance....still recognising the performances of the others, like Mings.

its what i have been waiting for.....really impressed with his contribution.

Leeds just simply didn't have their own way with us like last time....Bravo to Dean, for changing it.

Marvellous, was simply Marvellous.

For all the stick Mings has received of late, tonight he showed he is a rock in this team. Great leadership and responsibility tonight, he is a key player for this team and I am so glad we have him. Despite this,I thought Konsa was quietly quality tonight too.

Well said.

Great performance today. I don’t think we’re playing with massive belief or form since our COVID break and when jack was out you could see our belief dropped further. Today we started strong and got the early goal and El Ghazi could have had more and then just did what we had to do.

I love the fact that this season, for the first time in a long time, we can take an early lead, let them have the ball and I don’t feel the same anxiety that the opposition will score every time they attack.

Mings, Targett, Nakamba, Elghazi and Watkins were all superb, but my man of the match has to go to Nakamba, as it has on all 3 of his previous starts. So glad he is showing his true colours now as a lot of people wanted him gone but I always believed he could come good, as he was the only player, post last years lockdown, that didn’t get a chance, whereas Trez and Luiz did (having been poor before).

This is my favourite set of players we’ve had since I started supporting Villa with the Saunders, Atkinson, Daley team.

Great win that was. Tactics spot on by Smith & co and we pressed them and stopped them playing their game from the off. Kept it simple and despite them having possession we kept them at bay. We started the game much better than last week which made a big difference. Ramsey did excellent and so did Nakamba. They’ll both start on Wednesday night and rightly so. McGinn much better, much more involved and much more mobile.

Thought Targett and Watkins were our best players but Anwar looked confident and took his goal well. Nakamba was solid in the DCM role but also showed a great reading of the game as well as composure when needed. Another clean sheet against a team that scores for fun tells you everything. Much better tonight and a big boost to show we can get a win without Grealish.

Its the 3 points for me.....but i was heartened by the way the lads refused to be steam rollered, by a very capable offensive team.

for me, it was a real savvy performance.

sorry, but for me they deserve all the slagging off they get.  always been a horrible team for me and see no difference in them now to change that opinion. Bamford just typifies them but there's plenty of others llorente, Roberts, Ayling......

One of the most pleasing things today was that Smith made the changes required in midfield that many have been crying out for.

Not only that he set the team up in a way that limited the chances Leeds had and we made sensible changes like not trying to play out so much from the back against a team that wants to press you high up the pitch.

It's a sweet 3 points against a team with a very annoying fanbase in general.

Enjoy the 3 points - UTV!
