Those noses are gonna be awfully quiet tomorrow at work :D:flag:

You work in McDonalds?

no must be the job center ,are they allowed to sign on in crayon?

They could get jobs at the job centre itself, unfortunatley I have to sign on, being a college leaver I haven't been able to get a job yet, but anyway, the best suggestion I got from the job centre was to get a minimum wage job in London. Keep in mind I live in a small town in Oxfordshire, it would take me more than I would earn in a week for one days travel.

OK you are 2 yards out the keeper is on the floor and the ball is coming your way at just the right height to head it. Why the **** would you head it down at the keeper? Yes it crossed the line but what a clearing in the woods.

Agent Ridgewell strikes again.

They've got a new song about Gabby.

They've basically stolen Man Utd's song about Torres being a transvestite and changed the words so it's about Gabby.

a) I can sort of understand singing about our club as a whole, but why an individual player in a game that has no relevance to Villa? (Pompey away in a FA Cup quarter)

B) Man Utd's song about Torres is mildly amusing, because he is feminine looking and could pass as a transvestite. It makes no sense to call Gabby a transvestite....

Bless them, they try.

We can hardly take the moral high ground when it comes to singing nasty songs about the opposition, can we?

Do we sing about individual players with no relevance to the game we're playing in?

if you really want to laugh have a read of this a thread started when reading took the lead and some of them actually have some intelligence and admit we are far better than them (look out for that partisan loser)

2 -1 That didn't take long.

I said yesterday that Portsmouth couldn't be as poor in the second half, which is exactly what they said on the TV about the Vile. Unfortunately we didn't have the benefit of a 2 goal cushion.

Like them or not, Villa are a bloody good side!

3 goals in around 10 second half minutes, turning a tie around from 2-0 down to 3-2 up!

They have players who can score, and players who know how to break at speed... two things we lack.

2-0 Reading at HT.

11 mins after the restart 2-3.

Martin O'Neill what a half time he must of had. Don't you just wish we had someone as good.

.....and the football. just beautiful to watch. No grinding out boring displays there. Don't you wish our coaching staff could develeop football like that. I seem to remember Villa got rid of Roy the Boy after they finished in their worst Prem position and playing boring football.

Whether your a Bluenose who wants Vile through for the "Midlands" or a Villa hater... you cant deny the fact Villa are a good side, they have things we lack badly, and would be in a FA Cup Semi Final with... players who can score goals, and players who can break with pace!

So many times yesterday we couldve broke with pace.. however, without Jerome, we're slow to get forward... so ended up slowing the whole move down, playing it back, and sidewards to find space that never opened up.

Villa break and Young runs one wing, Downing the other, Milner through the middle, Agbonlahor too when he plays... and that instantly scares the team into dropping deeper and deeper.

If we had that ability yesterday, we wouldve beaten Portsmouth... rather convincingly I feel...ah well.. if Vile do end up through, I hope they get beat again.

The other thing is vile have premiership quality strikers, who know where the back of the net is. whereas we have championship ones..

To put a bit of perspective in there, Milner cost them more than our whole team. its not rocket science spend the money on the right players. sadly it seems we may not have that kind of money.

Oh yeah I know, I fully understand why the gulf is there between our line up and theres... and Vile have had lots to spend on their line up especially compared to ours..

Friedel - £2.5m

Cuellar - £8m.

Warnock - 'undisclosed' but believed to be around £4m-ish.

Dunne - £5m

Collins - £5m

Downing - £12m

Young - £10m

Petrov - £8m

Milner - £12m

Carew - part exchange for Baros.

Heskey - £1m

Plus Agbonlahor who came through their academy, and other people who pop up now and again like Sidwell, Reo-Coker, Delph etc, who cost a combined £18.5m.

Grand Total : £67.5m for the starting 11 today, plus £18.5m for the 'regular others' = £86m

Then look at us :

Hart - Loan

Carr - Free

Ridgewell - £2m

Johnson - £5m

Dann - £3m

Larsson - £500k

Fahey - £300k

Ferguson - £1m

Bowyer - Free

Jerome - £3m

McFadden £5m

Then players who play/are sub regularly... Gardner (£3m), Michel (£3m), Phillips (free), Chucho (loan), Parnaby (free) ... total cost there of just £6m.

Grand Total : £19.8m for yesterdays starting 11 plus £6m for regular others = £25.8m

I dont like Villa, its taught to you as a Blues fan growing up... but what I dont like even more is the arrogant sods (on both sides I know) who cant accept the other side for being what they are. I can accept Villa are ahead of us (as much as it hurts, its the truth), there was a chance a few years back when we were ahead of them when they had Ellis/Taylor and Ellis/O'Leary at the helm... but they got Lerner and O'Neill who have worked wonders at their club.

Do I like either of them? - Not really.

Would I have liked them to go elsewhere to start with? - Course I would.

But they didnt, and its up to Carson Yeung now, and his Chinese cronies, aswell as McLeish to push on in the same way they did... maybe once we've spent close to that amount of money, we can suddenly expect things like European qualification and cup semi's/finals... instead of some deluded people on here instantly expecting everything, even though the majority of our squad was brought for just a small figure more than just two of Villa's midfielders (Milner and Downing - Both £12m).

As I type this, they've just drawn Chelsea in the come... guess its Come on Chelsea!

Well put mate.

We might have had Reading at Wembley as they are one up and dominating play.

2-0 Reading at HT.

11 mins after the restart 2-3.

Martin O'Neill what a half time he must of had. Don't you just wish we had someone as good.

Oh here we go again

Lowhdam ....we already have a manager who won more trophies in Scotland than O'Neill

So as good ???....Well, his record at Rangers would back that up

And you're forgetting the Vile had the easiest 6th Round draw of the lot......As PTTS said a team 18th in the Championship who even outplayed your beloved Vile in the 1st half

One defeat and here you go again.......Time to slagg off McLeish and Aitken......Fickleness at it's finest

I came from afar over a long wide wall

To save a big city club that's never won naff' all

Forget Charlie Chan and Mr Woo too

My name is Carson and I'm the new 'Mr Blue'

Come on Parti, we've disagreed on many things in the past but surely even you aren't comparing McLeish to O'Neill?

Tell me this is a wind up?

Why on earth do you think it's a wind up ??

O'Neill tasted most of his success at Celtic

Yet Alex McLeish won more silverware at Rangers

O'Neill has had the benefit of an open cheque book at Villa wheras AM has had to wheel and deal on virtually nothing at Blues

MON has been linked with jobs both at Man United and Liverpool even the England job......But one paper last week reported that Liverpool may make an approach for McLeish as well

......and AM has already managed Scotland and did a very good job with a squad of limited ability players

Tell me, why do you and others on here have this love affair with Martin O'Neill when his job is far easier than most others in the PL

Roy Hodgson has achieved far more at Fulham than O'Neill has anywhere

IMO the only measure of O'Neill vs McLeish must be the time they spent as managers of Celtic and Rangers. There is no way you can compare Premier League McLeish to Premier League O'Neill unless you gave McLeish the time, money and support that has been afforded to Martin O'Neill by Randy Lerner.

McLeish as manager of Rangers 2001-2006

SPL winners (2): 2002–03, 2004–05

Scottish Cup winners (2): 2002, 2003

Scottish League Cup winners (3): 2002, 2003, 2005

7 Trophies.

Martin O'Neill as manager of Celtic 2000-2005

SPL Championship (3) – 2000/01, 2001/02, 2003/04

Scottish Cup (3) – 2001, 2004, 2005

Scottish League Cup (1) – 2000/01

7 Trophies.

Bear in mind also that Rangers had lost the 2000/2001 title by the time McLeish was appointed. McLeish was also put under financial constraints and a lot of his best players were sold in 2003. He was forced to build a team on a shoestring budget and still managed to match the almighty Martin O'Neill who, by the way had one of Celtic's greatest ever players at his disposal - Henrik Larsson. He led Rangers to the last 16 of the Champions League where they were only knocked out via the away goals rule.

OK, here's some feedback.

Please remind me of O'Neill's managerial record at Leicester City, would you?

Don't recall any open cheque books there.

As for claiming Roy Hodgson (who I'm a great admirer of, incidentally) has achieved more at Fulham than MON has anywhere, well that's just ludicrous, I'm sorry.

"Roy Hodgson has achieved much more at Fulham than MON has anywhere"

Really? Last time I Checked, whilst doing a very good job, Woy Hodgson hasn't won anything at Fulham.

We can hardly take the moral high ground when it comes to singing nasty songs about the opposition, can we?
Do we sing about individual players with no relevance to the game we're playing in?
Every week for about a year after Aliou Cisse's family drowned in the Le Joola ferry disaster, yes. I'm pretty sure I have heard songs about Tracy Andrews on more than one occasion when we are not playing the Blues too.

Taking the moral high ground over unsavoury chants when you are a supporter of any club seems a bit daft. Its like being the Liverpool fan who complains when Manchester United fans sing about Hillsbrough, when the Kop end have been singing about Munich for fifty years.
