sidcow Posted November 15, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted November 15, 2020 This is the problem with Southgate. Play all the defenders yet they've got 2 goals. Not enough attackers so we can't take the game to them. This could very easily have been what happened in the first game against them. They were so unlucky not to get a few goals and we performed a smash and grab for an undeserved win. It works against lesser teams because all the defenders can shut them out, and the few attackers are usually good enough for an individual to nick something. But the top teams will dominate possession and eventually work through your defence and then snuff out your outnumbered attack.
