East London Villa
For a variety of reasons, no Proctor Rowe Katsukunya Borland Jimoh Patterson Young Broggio Wilson Kellyman Brannigan Edwards for the U18s today. Still a poor result given the depth of talent we have at that level, but not a massive surprise.

useless
We're being linked to Keilan Quinn, West Brom U16 midfielder playing an age up for their U18s, was in the England U15 camps last season with Hayward, Meade, Burrowes and so on. Centre midfielder ? I am starting to have pity for them. These must be all the players Hopcroft spotted over the years . At some point those players will already be in the Villa academy. wishywashy
You have to wonder how much West Brom make off us every year during these biannual raidings of their academy. We must be the only reason they're still solvent at this point Edited February 1 by wishywashy

We must be the only reason they're still solvent at this point Hopefully this will become a lot less common as the next few age groups push through . The older age groups are part of the older recruiting regime who had gotten poor. The upcoming age groups are part of the new Academy staff and are considerably more competitive than previous years . We also recently bought u14s GK from Oxford and a CD from Swindon , lots going on .

Yep surely the answer is when you see "he'd been at baggies since he was 9" "he'd been at baggies since he was 11" that tells you where our academy has failed

It will be a failure of our talent identification & recruitment if we sign any player that joined the WBA academy after 2019.

East London Villa
So Tommi O'Reilly and Josh Feeney have got their loan moves. Late loan for Lamare Bogarde? If not, interesting situation for him. Recalled from Bristol Rovers. Seemed to have Championship suitors. Wasn't in the youth squads for the last round of fixtures. Is he injured? Will Emery be taking a look at him in training for the rest of the season? Afoka also recalled, hasn't got a move back out yet. With Gauci signing and Proctor stepping up to the U21s, I did wonder if Wright would get a loan too. We'll see in the next couple of hours I guess... To say it’s a failure is not right for a few reasons , there are limits on the amount of players per age group so that age group may already be full and therefore does the player stay on development and wait for a possible space or sign a contract for WBA ,Wolves etc, are these players the right fit at age 9 if not they maybe at 15 , do they want to play for Villa , there are some young players who are offered Villa and WBA and choose WBA due to the smaller set up . Multiple reasons

It's obviously ridiculous to think that 100% success at talent spotting of 9 year olds is a realistic benchmark for Harrison and/or his team to be held to.
