I'd imagine like Grealish, it would be for Champions League clubs only. Not in Europe. About to lose the player who has given them the only means of competing with / challenging the rest of the Sly 6. Whereas he seems really settled at Villa, is thriving under a great manager and is running our midfield. Anyway, if we do qualify for the CL next season then I suspect that means that Dougie will have had an amazing season. He'll need plenty of reassurances about being the midfield Pirlo for any club that are interested in signing him. There are a group of clubs ahead of us, they're also ahead of Spurs - that move doesn't get him into the title race - it's unlikely it gets him into the Champions League over the course of the next three or four years - it doesn't get him anything he hasn't got here - I don't see why he'd want to go. 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
