BBC pundits bigging up Lee Carsley at HT saying he'll go on to bigger things for sure.

Losing 2-0 vs Croatia got the U21's playing terrible with an embarrassment of  good players.

Has to be one of the worst 11s Spain have put out for about twenty years.

Many of these players are pretty average by La Liga standards.

Joselu started up front, he is 33 and couldnt get a start at Newcastle 5 years ago

People then complain when Morata turns up at tournaments for Spain and thats why

The way he uses Jones and JJ as interchanging false nine just hasn't work.

I think Joselu's been o.k. Limited but scored twice v Norway and nearly scored tonight.

Defence is very mediocre. Gaya in struggling Valencia team at LB is a massive downgrade from Alba and David Garcia at Osasuna has been on the ground more than their lightweight forwards.😂

Not sure why they haven't put on Gavi as he'll at least pass it around Scotland.

I think Spain will struggle in Norway (if Haaland is back) and Georgia aswell with lack of quality so this won't be straightforward group for them.

a draw for Andorra, result of the night

They've improved a fair bit in recent times, took 8 points in their nations league group. Didn't concede that many goals in the last euros group either so well ahead of San Marino as weakest european nation nowadays.

Could improve further if Pique actually shows commitment to play some for FC Andorra in Segunda.

I mean, it really isn't :D

it really is, they are the 3rd worst ranked country in Europe and all the other teams that won tonight were in the last Euros except Romania

Maybe if they won, but they didn't.  Andorra apparently the 6th worst in Europe (153rd in the World) - Kosovo are a whopping 8 places higher than them in Europe (107th in the World).  It's a shock that they didn't lose, but it's not result of the night when Scotland have beaten Spain 2-0.

Folarin Balogun switched from England to represent the United States (born in NYC but lived here since age 2 and capped for England U21). Scored 19 goals for Reims on loan from Arsenal.

Southgate would play kane if he was in a wheelchair so it's a good decision

Bielsa has taken over Uruguay, be interesting if players like Suarez and Cavani decided to play on

Surely not. They'll both be nearly 40 by time next World cup rolls around. Got the midfielders but not sure the attackers are quite there although little danger they'll miss out as South America has top 6 and a play off so should be a much smoother qualification progress now for Uruguay than the last 20 years when they've often needed a play off.

Didn't watch it but Germany lost 1-0 in a friendly vs Poland playing a not particularly experimental squad

Hansi's not having a good time of it

Was a retirement game for Blaszczykowski

Ter Stegen also was shambolic for the goal

Just not a good German squad really, they're very much in transition like Spain are.

On paper you'd think a middle trio of Kimmich-Gundogan-Goretzka would be amazing but they've been options since 2018 and produced mediocre tournament performances.

Their defensive options bar Rudiger must be the worst since early 2000s aswell.

Will see if home advantage can spark them back into life again like it did in 2006.

They need muokoko to come good up front, to me they don't have that CL level striker that can get goals to blag wins, started with havertz up front last night

Musiala is as good as anyone for his age, Wirtz isn't far behind they'll be their biggest hopes for next summer, their midfield and attacking midfield options are good

Not sure how thiaw has done at Milan but yeah their defence isn't good either

He wasn't, it was a header that bounced of the floor from a corner. It was a good goal that you don't expect to save, if you do it's a brilliant one.

But Germany hammered Poland. 26 shots, I think 11 on target. All they need is a no.9. But the side plays good football, if a little suspect at the back.
