Great result for Wales against a dirty Latvia team, who were given full licence by the referee - six bookings, one of which should have been a red.

Wales lacked a bit of class once Ramsey went off, and Johnson didn't quite live up to his billing, but they kept their discipline in the face of a lot of provocation.

He probably wanted to balance it out after the Rugby game last night :P

He'll land the Chelsea job in 6 months 😉

They've been a mess under him, poor WC, poor in friendlies, they've seemingly got nothing

It's strange with Germany.

Keeper is still world class, CBs are average compared to previous generations but Rudiger is no worse than what England, Spain and Belgium are putting out in one of the positions. And CM options of Goretzka, Kimmich and Musiala should be really exciting, can only guess they lack an experienced head as in 2014 when Schweinstiger had been international for 10 years so could guide Kroos and Ozil.

Edit: I thought Gundogan had retired aswell. Don't think his performances internationally have ever come close to his club form.

Their big problem imo is adopting the Spanish model of just playing endless false 9s in final third. Best German sides always had auxiliary target man but guess the Bundesliga options are just too average to start every time at international level. Look back to 2014 and Klose was still upfront so they won't challenge for major honours again until that type of CF comes through once more. And they start playing some decent Full backs.

Lindelöf and Robin Olsen combining for a comedy goal to give Azerbaijan the lead. Zero communication and Olsen refusing to come off his line followed by a pathetic effort by Lindelöf.

They just made it 2-0 :crylaugh:

Saw the replay. That’s on Lindelof.

Mainly yes. He's waiting for Olsen to come out or communicate but he doesn't and then Lindelöf just has a brain melt. Olsen thou does a really strange attempt at coming out and block the shot. He runs out so far that he blocks almost nothing of the goal and despite the attacker having a terrible angle and he somehow turns so that he makes himself smaller instead of bigger when hi tries to save.

Goal is on Lindelöf thou.

And now Robin Olsen concedes a shot from the halfway line. 0-3 against a Azerbaijan that's been playing with 10 men since the 57th minute. I said it then and I'll say it again. Janne Andersson should have been replaced after the 2018 WC. Was only ever one way he was gonna take the Swedish national side and this is it.

Female refs in the Azerbaijan-Sweden game and after the game the Azerbaijan players who bothered to thank the refs did so by holding their hands inside their jerseys so to not touch the women hand to hand. Religion is great...

Yeah, religions have always been known for their egalitarian qualities...
