He'll get this bill through. They know they're over if it doesn't.

When Sunak entered the house, slightly late, he couldn't have looked any more smug (even more so than usual). Sadly, I suspect he knows he's going to get the vote.

The headline in the BBC is that Sunak has stated he “may tighten the bill”

Is anything ever actually done, ready, complete?

Vote for this, I know it doesn’t work, and I might change it later, might.

Is it too much to expect something that is completed to be presented and then voted on?

Well, yes. Hardly any legislation passes which hasn't been amended on the way.

Yeah, but there’s amendments and then there’s pretending you can stop it being internationally illegal in a couple of weeks time which begs the question, why didn’t you do it from the outset?

Oops

The funny bit is people have moved on, people want you out because the taking back control thing was clearly a load of bollocks. Your best bet of keeping your job would be to double back and give control to anyone else

LONDON, Dec 12 (Reuters) - The British minister at the COP28 climate summit in Dubai flew back to London to vote on Tuesday on sending asylum seekers to Rwanda, a move campaigners said sent a damaging message about Britain's priorities at a crucial time for climate talks.

When you’re at a climate summit but need to fly back for a quick vote to save Sunaks skin before getting flown back out again…

Embarrassing

In a few years time, when the Tory Party is DNR this whole Rwanda policy will appear to have been the weirdest hill to have died on and willl be indicative of how the Tories finally and completely lost their collective minds

They've  so far spunked close to £300mil on a policy designed as a deterrent to asylum seekers, who are being trafficked by gangs, 99.9% of whom will have absolutely no idea of UK immigration policy. They will only be sending a very small number there and we'll be taking some asylum seekers off Rwandas hands at the same time

It won’t work even if (and it’s a huge if) it can manage to navigate all the inevitable legal challenges.

These MPs like Jenrick that keep saying that it’s what the UK electorate want and they keep telling them they must get it through must live in the strangest little bubble if they actually think it to be true. People really aren’t talking about it, they are more concerned with the price of cheese and fuel

It's just a very bizarre way to commit suicide
