Bruce has played one up top for the majority of his time here. Thats not going to change, the team on sunday will be the same as the one that faced Reading, with Hogan coming in for kodjia.

RHM is certainly first choice change though for the next 3 games.

Bruce has picked one up top as our best striker plays best in that role, now he's out I'd expect Bruce to revert to his favoured 2 up top.

Christ knows we are going to need goals from somewhere!

however what happens if this works?

It would be interesting to see RHM and Hogan up top, i just can't see it, certainly not against sha.

Maybe we might see Adomah just off Hogan?

Maybe he can be a decent foil for hogan in the next few games?

I don't want to see foils for anybody, with respect we have had oodles of them

I want to see kids like Sessegnon......who take the game by the scruff of the neck and smash the ball in the net......16 I tell ya.

And we cut ours so much slack in terms of years......we have em 22 and still refer to them being young.

all things being equal he will have 6 years experience by the time he is 22.

Tbh if we do try 2 up front I'd like to see gabby given the nod over rhm.

I'd like to see him make an appearance from the bench when the pressure will be slightly less intense. Also gabby has a good knack of playing well in this fixture.

This isn't the game to blood our kids from the off.

I don't want him starting against Blose. After that I don't much mind either way, but not in the derby.

There are intangible benefits to playing locals in derbies.  He'll know exactly what this means to the fans.  Similar to the likes of Grealish.

He's too small and he's not looked like scoring. I'm genuinely not against it after Blues, but it's going to be a blood and thunder game. We can't be playing with ten and a half men from the off.

And what if he has a stinker? The crowd might be on his back.

No that's fair enough if you don't think he's up to it.  For me the fact it's a derby actually means it makes more sense using him in this fixture than in any other one.

I think that's a risk for any player in any game.  The manager will know his temperament and whether he can handle it.

I may have missed this at some point, but did he ever sign a new contract?

Yes he signed early February.  It's why he's back in contention.

I have never saw him live but google has him down as 6ft 1. That can't be right, can it?

I agree with you, he looks like a little boy the same as he did 2 years ago.

Depends who the alternatives are ?

Rather see him start than bacuna or gabby in the team .

---------------------Jedinak--------------------------

--Adomah--Lansbury--Hourihane--Grealish--

----------------------Hogan-------------------------

4-1-4-1. Best players available playing in our best available formation.

Yet it makes Hogan pretty ineffective...and thus reduces our chances of scoring.

I think this is how we will start but Id love to see 2 up!

I don't know what makes Hogan effective

This is my best guess.

I think the opposite. That formation gives both Lansbury and Hourihane licence to push slightly further forward. Both of those, and Grealish can pick out a pass, and unlike in previous games when the first thought of every player is just to look for Kodjia, on sunday Hogan will be the focal point.

The line up looks exciting to me and i think Hogan will thrive in it.
