LockStockVilla
Aston Villa plot Wes Hoolahan transfer from Norwich and have made a £1.5million offer Jan 03, 2014 22:30 By John Cross Paul Lambert hopes his previous club will sell experienced Republic of Ireland midfielder who is not guaranteed a place in Chris Hughton's first XI It has to be Hoo: Villa have bid for Norwich's Wes HoolahanIt has to be Hoo: Villa have bid for Norwich's Wes HoolahanJamie McDonald Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has made a £1.5million bid to sign Norwich midfielder Wes Hoolahan. The Villans' Friday afternoon offer will not please the Canaries - Lambert's previous employers - after his acrimonious departure 18 months ago. It puts a major question mark over Hoolahan’s future, and the Republic of Ireland midfielder may now have played his last match for the Carrow Road club. The 31-year-old has started Norwich’s last two games, but his place has not been guaranteed under manager Chris Hughton this season so the chance to hook up with his former boss and play regular first-team football could appeal. Norwich face Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday, but there is a doubt over whether Hoolahan will be involved after Villa’s surprise approach. Lambert said this week that he is targeting younger players to add quality to his squad, but Hoolahan could provide some experience and quality for good value for Villa. LockStockVilla
I'd be happy with this. Small fee, give him a two year deal on what shouldn't be astronomical wages. Decent fix for the short term and certainly adds a type of player we currently don't have.

Redditch_Villa
Always thought it was a matter of time before Lambert brought him to Villa, I would take him at that price from what I have seen in the past.
postdeath
He was outstanding against Manchester United last week, if he can come in and put in displays like that I doubt anyone will be complaining.

bradarmstrong_
Not an exciting signing but worth the small fee if it happens.
Isa
I'd take him for that price. Uninspiring but would walk into our team. Edited January 3, 2014 by Isa
GENTLEMAN
Thanks guys. I think Norwich may harbour ill feelings towards us over Lambert. Edited January 3, 2014 by GENTLEMAN
LockStockVilla
I must be in the minority by being excited with this. Can't even remember the last time Villa had a half decent AM. Would love to see somebody capable of creating chances for our strikers out there. Edited January 3, 2014 by LockStockVilla

Pembers
Premier League experience, an attacking midfielder and a small fee. All things that we need. He's not gonna be a superstar for us, but he'll get a job done, can't be too bad a signing in my opinion. He's also inducted in the Norwich City hall of fame which seems a bit weird.
