Avflife Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) Taken from a Belgium website, Defour's agent Paul Stefani confirming we have an interest in Defour, would be a massive signing if we pulled this coup off. "Aston Villa has indeed announced that they show interest in Defour, but really is not concrete yet. Example, there are several teams that I can not mention. Unfortunately Alas, in this period, as many said," Stefani said in a conversation with Voetbalkrant.com ."Before 10 January, you should not expect news. Lot of people who are involved in the business, after all, are still on vacation until that date."Defour is currently not always play, but his situation is precarious. "Yesterday I had contact with Steven. He is certainly open to a nice club, provided that he has more chances of playing space. But he is certainly not unhappy with Porto. Yet he wants to play football in particular in view of the World Cup. Adam_ Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Looking more and more promising! Would be well happy with that signing
smetrov Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Never the same after a broken leg - from what I heard. But could he do a job in midfield ? - would be worth a loan IMO.
Biskitt Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Would love to think there was a chance it could happen but sadly, I think this might end up as Belhanda mk2. Hope I'm wrong though! 1
Avflife Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 Without doubt would be one of the biggest signings since Martin Laursen signed from AC Milan. A midfield of Bacuna, Defour and Delph
Isa Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 As long as we don't play him in a deeper role, he would be a great signing. Has a good understanding with Benteke when they play in the national team too. 1

troon_villan Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Ahh no!! Someone went and made a thread. Now I firmly believe he's already joined and am starting to visualize him in the shirt and on the pitch. 2
bickster Posted January 3, 2014 Moderator Posted January 3, 2014 Agent announces Villa interest… just about guarantees that even if there were any interest, it is now over. 3
sonic_bouma Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Without doubt would be one of the biggest signings since Martin Laursen signed from AC Milan. A midfield of Bacuna, Defour and Delph Is still not that great. And severely lacking in creativity. Would very much like Defour here but we better start getting links to AMs soon.
Big_John_10 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Good age, good reputation, Belgium international and better than what we have. Would be nice.

Would be 4-3-3 away from home Defour, Delph and a number 10 and at home 4-2-3-1, Defour, Delph and the number ten sitting in between Gabby and hopefully Zaha.
VillaForever1970 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Agent announces Villa interest… just about guarantees that even if there were any interest, it is now over.Yup along with him being owned by 3 different parties, not too hard to sort out.
Electric Avenue Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Defour ? Is that Hull for Defoe ? He's still holed up at the belfry. Patience people please. 1
