  1. The options aren't just "Cash in on him now" and "lose him for free in the summer". There is another transfer window before his contract runs up, and although we would get less than what we'd get now we would have time to look for an adequate replacement. Sure, there is the risk he might get injured, but that's less of a risk than going on through the season without one of our best two midfielders.

    Matty Cash

I want Gerrard out asap but he's arguably the only player (along with Ramsey) who has played his best football with us under Gerrard. Before that he was all energy, poor delivery, and a penalty waiting to happen. At least his end product has improved. Weather that was just a good run of form, time will tell. But he was abysmal for their second goal and should be dropped on principal for switching off like that.

The way he completely forgot about Martinelli for their second goal is inexcusable.
  4. This is mostly the same squad that was 5th by Christmas 2 season ago... Digne for targett, Buendia for Grealish and Bailey for Traore... And while one definitely is a downgrade, you'd argue the others are upgrades .
  5. Dreadful from Martinez but Ramsey completely lost his man. Gifted them a goal
  6. Is it fair to say he's the most disliked manager we've had in at least a decade? I'm trying to think of competition and I mainly think of Bruce, Garde and McLeish. McLeish was rubbish and had the blues connection, but came across as an honest, humble and nice bloke. Garde was rubbish and unpleasant, but pretty much took an impossible job. Bruce could be very unpleasant, was rubbish and underachieved, but to his credit he did steady the proverbial ship and did lay the foundation on which Dean built our promotion on. Gerrard is rubbish, he is unpleasant and unlike all three has actually inherited a good squad, and he's greatly contributing to a massive regress not only on the pitch, but apparently off it as well.
  7. Selling him would be wrong, as that would leave us without any wingers at all and you can expect Gerrard's successor to be planning to play with them, regardless of what you think of Bailey.
  8. Knowing the manager with his performance he's just earned himself an early appearance from the bench next time things go down south (which let's face it, will more than likely be against West ham)
  9. Their number 5 is everything we're not - big, strong and mean. Sign him up
  10. And won us a penalty, which in my book is worth a goal contribution and is basically an assist, if the penalty is scored
  11. It does, really. Maybe not this summer, but with the amount of attacking players we have and the incoherence of their respective skillsets, some of them will be frozen out, weather it be Ings, Bailey, Buendia, Coutinho. They will become deadwood we won't be able to shift, and THAT is when it will probably be money we won't be able to spend (not to mention how it affects FFP). And it's all money down the toilet, because there certainly is enough talent there. What we need is an effective way to play them.
  12. Many will think I'm overreacting, but I honestly believe he needs a loan to the championship, even if only for half a season. He needs to be the best player in a team and being constantly passed the ball. That will teach him how to actually be present throughout the game and how to take responsibility, rather than shying away. We can't afford to carry him if he's only going to show up for 5 minutes per game.
  13. Regardless of what you think of the penalty, he was bad enough even if you don't take it into account. Dreadful defending. Ramsey was completely useless though, which also doesn't help.
  14. Not writing him off, he was our best player against Bournemouth and Everton. But Eze embarrassed him today.
  15. We look like we might concede every time the opposition have a set oiece. We actually conceded 4 goals in 2 and a half games from set pieces. Luckily two were ruled out. This bloke is an absolute waste of wages.

    Ezri Konsa

That pass to Ayew was exquisite. Shame they don't play in the same team.
  17. But that's the point, have you seen Iwobi's stats? He'd have missed!
  18. I'm still convinced that Buendia-Ings is the best attacking link-up we currently have at the club. Probably neither will start on Saturday.
  19. This would make more sense if we had aerial threat in the box, to maximise the crosses from our wingbacks. We don't have that type of striker
  20. "He went to Barca, and just sat on the bench, He came to Villa, 'Cause Gerrard is he friend, He's effing useless..." Ok I'm getting carried away, but if he doesn't get his droppings together that might soon become his chant
  21. Lad must be thinking: "How come no matter how well I play,l and how poorly Konsa plays, he always gets the nod ahead of me?" I'd be fuming if I were him.
  22. As they say, with great power comes great responsibility. The same should apply to footballing ability, and Coutinho just doesn't step up. In fact, if you had to attribute the word "passenger" to any of our players, week in, week out, he would probably get the highest number of nominations. Disappointing.
  23. I'm not massively upset he wasn't picked - the reason for that being that Chambers hasn't put a foot wrong since joining us and has been consistently good not just at defending but also on the ball, and in my view he's done enough to earn the shirt ahead of Mings. To pick Konsa ahead of either of them is what really baffles me.
