  1. Seeing where we are next season clearly makes a lot more sense, because it allows him to value the costs/benefits/missed opportunities, as well as potentially ask for money if we do qualify for the champions league. I strongly doubt anything will be done before the season ends
  2. He did that for a run of games last season when Kamara was injured when we went unbeaten for however many games that was and was also very good
  3. I can see him starting on Wednesday, it will be a tough atmosphere, Lille will be up for it and can see them having a lot of the ball, having him as a "target winger" like on Saturday could be a valuable asset
  4. Hope he gets at least another league goal this season, he deserves to finish in double digits, especially considering that ridiculous var decision which ruled out his goal against Sheffield United back in December
  5. It's scary how good he can get, even now, on current form, it would be difficult to drop him even if all players were fit and available. I was critical of this signing at first, I felt we urgently needed someone who's battle ready. He is
  6. That's probably been the best performance in central midfield for quite some time
  7. I gave Motm to Tielemans, he covered magnificently for Luiz, dictating play, in the first half especially he was really helping getting the ball out under a lot of pressure and was flawless every time, and ended the game with a perfectly weighted pass to assist Ollie. And that shot deserved a goal. Carlos is equally as worthy, and an honourable mention to Zaniolo who did the dirty work really, really well
  8. He can be very good when concentrated. Let's hope he stays concentrated
  9. So they basically field a full strength side, we are blighted with injuries
  10. A shirt pull is a booking, the ref being an absolute mug and not being able to have any consistency doesn't make Luiz pulling a shirt any less of a booking (or a stupid decision)
  11. He's a bit like el Ghazi in the sense that you can see there are attributes there but he's absolutely clueless as to how to make the best out of them
  12. He's not our best player, but he's the only one playing a very important role/position and that has left a huge hole. Not having any backup (other than Tim, who looks miles off it) was a huge mistake
  13. Hasn't been at his best for a while, and he keeps getting such cheap cards
  14. Either swap positions with McGinn and tielemans or bring Tim on. We are asking for trouble. Loaning out Dendoncker was a mistake, we save peanuts on his wages and are left extremely short in midfield. He's not great, but I have seen nothing from Tim so far to suggest he's any better
  15. That Konsa pass to McGinn... Why can't we do the basics?
  16. Did Carlos injure his brain along with his achilles?
  17. Whoever we sign, I hope they have strong leadership skills as well as physical/technical
  18. Not just his presence, his leadership too
  19. Because the ref had seen him (before calling him out) that he had his hands all over the defender, and decided in advance that whatever would happen, Carlos would be to blame. Let's be as charitable as we can possibly be and assume it's human psyche, in the heat of the moment, and he saw what he expected to see. WHAT THE HELL IS VAR FOR, then? The yellow card is even more baffling because there is no context to it whatsoever.
  20. Up to the point where we conceded he was one of the best players on the pitch. But he, like the whole defense, just cannot stay concentrated for 90 minutes and that ultimately cost us what should have been an easy win
  21. Shame he can't celebrate his goal with a win, especially as it was such a good goal and even more frustratingly it looked like the goal which set the game.
  22. I raised the point before the game. We don't know how the game would have turned out if he hadn't started, but a point from this game certainly isn't a success and his performance certainly wasn't one of his best

    Ezri Konsa

It's like he forgets he's playing right back , tucks in inside, ball goes wide and he's too late to prevent the cross. Which you can't trust Torres and Carlos to deal with.
  24. The mental frailty of this team is alarming. It's not just the defending that becomes dreadful, during those spells we are pathetic on the ball as well, either missing easy passing or trying absurd dribbles in our own half. Embarrassing display, and it keeps happening, against forest, against Luton, against spurs, against city and again today
  25. I don't care how good he is on the ball, he was absolutely pathetic for their second goal. It's like he wasn't even aware that there can be opposition players in the box
