  1. Should have had yet another goal contribution to his name. What a season he's having
  2. Which is fine, if he recovers well he'll be more than adequate backup and a valuable player to bring on to see out games in the final stage where we're under pressure, especially against physical teams. There is still a role for Mings in this squad, even if not as a starter.
  3. Tackle was brilliant, but sometimes during the half it felt like Konsa forgot he's playing at RB and not at CB
  4. If any of our booked players does something dodgy while on a yellow you just know that red card will come out at the speed of light. Bar can take 3 minutes to draw lines on a pixelated screen, but apparently checking for a clear and obvious second yellow is against the rules to ensure the game flows. Ok.
  5. Had to pick this thread from page 3, behind Kortney Hause. He slotted in quietly but seamlessly, looks disciplined and his distribution is very good. Looks like a very astute loan move, feels like a very adequate Torres backup. Credit to him and to the recruitment department

Whatever his flaws may be, those sliding tackles are very entertaining
  7. He probably learned a lot by playing as a 6 and likely is a better player for it now
  8. We've played well but the final ball just isn't there. Just like against forest the front line is not at its best, bailey runs into people, diaby needs to go out wide or he's cut out, Watkins is isolated and the few times he gets the ball it bounces off him rather than sticking, McGinn is somewhat absent. We're not very likely to score if nobody steps up
  9. You can see there is ability but there's a combination of repeated poor decision making and mostly lackluster end product which makes him feel very replaceable. Miss Buendia
  10. I would tend to respectfully disagree. Forest after scoring early on in each half has happy to let us have the ball and defended in a very disciplined way. We had lots of the ball but had no idea what to do with it and resorted to hopelessly crossing it in the box, where diaby, Watkins and bailey had little to no chance to get much joy. Our forward line was mostly invisible and our midfielders were unable to find a way through. We didn't seem to have a plan or the personell to play against a low block today.
  11. He's our most consistent and reliable player (maybe along Konsa). We can forgive him a sub-par game. Still got plenty of credit in the bank.
  12. In the meantime, if the kits are indeed affecting players performing, would it be unreasonable to wear away/third kits until the issue is fixed - even if we play at home, assuming it doesn't mean colours clash with the opposition, which may be the case against Brighton for example? Hell, they could even wear goalkeeper kits . Yes it would look somewhat amateurish, but then again, so do our home kits. And if it does breach some contract which has us wear a given kit for an X amount of games, the issue the home kits cause should (I'd like to hope) be a valid enough reason for us not to fulfill that clause. Football can be a game of margins and I would hate us to be penalised for something as trivial as a poorly made kit.

Why does this fool keep shooting from the edge of the box?
  14. I doubt it, he's collecting massive wages and is playing poorly. He won't want to go to earn less money, and I can't see teams wanting to pay him what he asks for, let alone a buying price on top of that. Unless it's Saudi, maybe...
  15. Other than his occasional through ball he really offers nothing. He played a brilliant one tonight. Pity it was for Calvert Lewin...
  16. As if there is always ever one issue? Olsen is one of the main issues whenever he plays. There were many glaring issues tonight and Olsen probably wasn't event one of the top 3. Doesn't change the fact that he cost us a goal in a game we lost by a one goal margin.
  17. Goals conceded really aren't a great metric to evaluate a keeper's performance. While Emi wasn't spectacular against Warsaw, he wasn't directly at fault for any of their goals. Olsen is directly at fault for at least one goal more often than not, usually because he just can't help himself and will pass it straight to the opposition. Nearly did an Enckelman against Hibs too. In any team playing it out from the back he is an absolute liability, and it's not like he has other attributes he excels at to somehow make up for it.

For a lad his size you'd expect his hold up play to be a bit better. Hopefully that will come with coaching and experience
  19. I don't think it's so much a quality issue rather than an attitude issue. Even the regular starters have been shocking.
  20. It was overhit by dendoncker but Olsen really shouldn't be struggling with the clearance. Calamity waiting to happen, every time he plays. Hope we upgrade in January. If Emi gets injured were royally screwed.
  21. Different gravy this lad. Loved his celebration too. Keeping him at the end of last summer is one of the best bits of business we've ever done.
  22. To be fair McGinn played in the double pivot last season when Kamara was injured and was very good
  23. He starts every season poorly though, doesn't he? Even in his first season, prior to January, he scored a Hattrick again Liverpool, a brace against arsenal and a penalty against Southampton. One way to look at is 6 goals, which is decent. Another way to look at it is only 2 games he's scored from open play. The following seasons he also picked up only 3-4 goals (with all the caveats of managerial changes and the team being overall poor). I hope this isn't a trend because we can't wait for 2024 for him to start scoring regularly.
  24. To be fair, it's the sponsor that kills it. Otherwise it would be blow average, but not quite the worst
  25. Still got 2 assists and won a penalty in 3 league games. We play with a fluid attacking system, As long as the goals are coming, I'm not concerned with where they're coming from. He's playing well and contributing in attacking output. The goals will come.
