  1. It's not just his goals though, his all-round game is nowhere to be seen.
  2. How does that disprove anything of what I just said?
  3. I'd rather have Scott Hogan than Watkins. Ok, no, I wouldn't. But he really needs to super his game up. His all-round game which was so good last season has vanished
  4. But it's one thing if you do it when you have cover behind you, if that opens a chance for a counterattack, ecc. Today it was completely needless and extremely risky.
  5. He was a fool to get himself in that position in the first place. You don't try to dribble past players if you've got acres of the pitch behind you. There was nothing to be gained and everything to be lost from that attempt at dribbling past them.
  6. It looked to me like it was more Ming's getting it wrong, he was marking him but let him get too far away from him and Yarmolenko had the time and space to shoot. Great finish to be fair, he could try that 10 more times and not pull it off...
  7. With 5 goals and 4 assists he's the player with the highest number of goal contributions, followed by Watkins with 7 goals and 1 assist. Not bad considering the limited amount of game time
  8. Last season one of his most impressive traits was his hold up play. That has completely vanished this season... They way we keep lumping it up at him we might as well bring back big Keinan... (I'm being mostly sarcastic and very, very slightly half-serious)
  9. To be fair to him he scored in the last two games he started, Brentford and ManU in the cup (until VAR finally found a straw to clutch on to disallow the goal). Deserves a chance given Watkins's performances and lack of end product
  10. 2 goals and 2 assists in the last four games goes to show that the end product is there with him if he's given regular game time. Weather he is able to replicate similar end-product in the premier league given an equal amount of game time remains to be seen, but his overall gameplay is in itself valuable. He's finally having the chance to make a name for himself and should we still deem him not good enough we could command a more than decent fee for him if he keeps this form up.
  11. He does a lot of things wrong which seem avoidable. Hopefully he will learn to avoid them because there are some really good elements to his game. Unlucky not to have a goal, but an assist still ought to please him
  12. Ridiculous yellow card, that wasn't even a challenge
  13. We look dangerous when we get into their final third. We're atrocious whenever we are not there though, weather in possession or not. I also seem to be in the minority in thinking Ramsey's goal shouldn't have stood, but I certainly wish it had. I'm expecting a different level of performance in the second half, their press has been killing us and when we get caught with a high line it's always a massive worry
  14. 2 tackles and the ball bounces right back, perfectly for him...
  15. By signing so many forward players Smith had to play McGinn as a 6 to accommodate that. Which was a failure to get the best out of both the forward players and McGinn himself. Gerrard comes with a fresh slate and the license to change everything he deems to be ineffective, and that's one of the first thing he addressed.
  16. Depending on the game Luiz can be brilliant at both. He's been sublime playing as a 6 during project restart and at the beginning of last season, but he's shown what he can offer as an 8 tonight and against Everton. I'm happy with him playing in either role, depending on the opposition
  17. The last outfield player of around that age we've had was Robert Pires if I remember correctly. What a stark difference and what a shrewd signing. As if yet it doesn't sadly seem to be the case for our other summer signings, hopefully this will change very soon
  18. Very promising but should've scored there. Imagine if he had won us a point against Man city, how big that would've been for him and for us.
