I know Wales deliberately don't play many friendlies to keep their FIFA ranking artificially high but how can Giggs stand there in a Press Conference and say anything about how his team played in a friendly when he never bothered to play in them himself. I hope he crashes and burns.

Liverpool do this as well. It means you are paying out good money to the players who are contributing to your team and not half as much to the Richards, N'Zogbia's, Gabby's etc. It a very sensible approach and I'm surprised most teams don't do it.

If the figures reported on Monday Night Football are correct he's doing alright by this move. 300K + a week, around 1 million a month, 12 million a year. The lad won't be in the poorhouse.

Unless they win the EL it looks like it will be another year with no champions league football which will eat into all that money they have. I wonder how long they can last without CL football before they have to scale back spending and wages.

I wasn't that surprised. They play a fast break counter attacking style that is the exact type of football that's going to cause City problems. City's weakness is the back four & the space in behind them and Liverpool can exploit that on the break.

They have to have something to try to stop it because when a player runs over to the fans there's usually a crush of people trying to celebrate with him or touch him. That crush can lead to injuries especially for kids/old people. Someone had their leg broken because the players celebrated with the fans at a united hull game.

He certainly isn't and even the 'Pro Bruce' people would probably agree with that. I'd just be shocked, and delighted, if he was sacked after getting promotion.

How many managers get sacked after getting their team promoted? The only example I can think of is when one particular Hull City manager resigned when he realised there would be no money to spend in the summer and fell out with the ownership.
