  1. Inevitable loss in the end. Can't concede that much possession and hold on. Need an outlet and hourihane is not a defensive midfielder ever. Not enough tackles going in to break up the game. Two positives, 1 we are not Norwich and 2 we looked like we belonged in the premier league. Games against the top 6 especially away aren't going to yield many points. We showed today we are a match for anyone else.
  2. Playin better now. Keeping the ball. Trezguet looks good.
  3. In before someone compares him to McGrath. He seems to read the game very well.
  4. Should have given him a 10 year contract.
  5. This times a million. Insanity. Other than that the team is okay.
  6. The best bit of defending he's ever done for us.
  7. I bet norwich wished they had 'done a Fulham' this morning. At least they might have had some hope of staying up.
  8. I think he's third choice at the moment and will mostly be used as an option off the bench this season. No chance we will leave our record signing out of the team today
  9. They look a bombsite at the back. Crazy that they didnt spend some money in the summer to sort it out. I didnt think they would go down before last night but now I'm fairly certain they will.
  10. Yes he should have been booked according to the rules.
  11. They haven't even switched on. They have looked half arsed and weak at the back...but they're four nil up.
  12. No chance. John Terry would walk onto the pitch and kill a man with his bare hands if we defended this badly.
  13. To be fair they look a shambles at the back. Liverpool have created very little and scored three goals. Norwich look very naive, and only spent £2.5m! Insane.
  14. Agreed, transfer windows can only ever slam shut. They are incapable of closing. It is known.

    Ajax

Yeah but it's just not realistic in modern football. Remember when Porto won the CL under Mourinho, half their team left. Ajax might be a big name historically but that counts for nothing these days. I don't follow the eredeivise but it seems competitive and well supported so I don't think life is too bad as an ajax fan. They just wont be winning European trophies again any time soon.
  17. Only if dean has spent the entire preseason teaching him how to pass. His head down, dribble, shoot on sight tactics are not going to work if we play the way I think smith wants us to.

    Ajax

They are nothing special, they are just like other "feeder" clubs like lyon, benfica, Porto etc. Get young players in and big clubs can see them playing at a reasonable level so they are willing to take a chance that they can make the step up. With good recruitment you can make a lot of money and re-invest to continue the cycle. If you do get a "golden generation" then you will only ever have a one season window as you cant break your wage structure to keep players. The big thing is not to waste the money you get from player sales instead, you keep the club sustainable and future proof. They seem to be run well and have the right ideas about the club and what they can and can't do.
  19. This. Much like their pursuit of Coutinho it was all for show, they never had any intention of signing either of those players. Spurs don't have the money to compete with the real top teams, especially when they have a billion pound stadium to pay for. They are the new Arsenal and soon Ponchettino will be talking about the 4th place "trophy".
  20. 1000/1 on betway not to win a game. I would love it if that happened, love it! Bruce would probably still get them 13 0-0 wins* though
