Very sad news. RIP. He was a terrific player and seemed like a decent guy too.

It's probably both. When he got called up for England apparently he wasn't interested in playing for them at all. Never a good sign that a player actually likes playing football.

McGinn has been miles better than either Luiz or Nakamba. His passing isn't great but he's as good as those two players put together and easily good enough for the PL.

It's not just corners, we cant take or defend throw ins either. Watch our players when we have a throw in, they just stand like motionless statues. It's been an issue for years.

Gives the ball away an awful lot. His long range passing is especially dreadful.

I'd be shocked if Reina doesn't start. It's clear smith thinks he's better than nyland and one howler wont change that.

I did notice the difference between the two leagues but I also noticed that Hassan has no pace or brain.

Ross MCCormack, Henry Lansbury, Yannick Bolaise, Jedinak, Whelan all spring to mind straight away. On enormous premier league wages to play for a mid table championship club.

I think he *might* be a useful impact sub at that level but not a starter.

If that was true he'd be gone already because Chelsea will batter us. It's not true though, he won't be sacked.

I actually forgot he was still with us. Can't even make the bench ahead of the woeful Hassan. He must be horrendous in training.

When they gave him a 4 year deal earlier this season that let everyone know that they were going to stick with him no matter what. Even when we go down he won't be sacked.

I have a feeling this could get ugly. Chelsea look so much better with Alonso and Giroud back in the team and I think they'll pummel us. The fans will turn on the team and that will be that. The team I'd play: Reina Elmo, Engels, Mings, Targett El Ghazi Nakamba Luiz Samatta Jack Davis

We didnt though. We looked up for it for the first 10 minutes. That was it. Reina made a mistake but we were always going to concede multiple goals last night. It was inevitable. To try to say everything was going to plan until Reina had a brainfart is absolute nonsense in my opinion. If that's what Smith is trying to claim he's deluded or lying.

Sorry but we weren't doing OK up to 40 minutes. We were getting battered and should have been ~2 goals down, they missed three open headers (Ineacho, Evans and Soyuncu). We started the game well and should have scored and then from the tenth minute on it was just a question of how many we would lose by. We lost by four but it could have been 8.

Amazed he's getting criticism for last night. What do people expect him to do when he has the three stooges playing in central midfield? When it was clear Grealish wasn't getting the ball (i.e. at halftime) then el Ghazi should have been brought on for hourihane and Jack moved into midfield so he might have half a chance of getting on the ball. Seemed obvious to me but again smith is unable to see obvious tactical changes or make subs. -
Same as, last night was the final straw. I expected to lose but that performance was beyond bad. 5 defeats in a row and each performance worse than the last. Outclassed not just by leicester and Man City but by Southampton too.

The probelm with his work rate is that he sprints after the ball instead of staying in position and marking his opponent. He sprinted after the ball last night leaving barnes wide open and then leicester just passed it around him leaving him stranded. Also his last ditch tackles are because he's out of position in the first place. I don't remember McGrath ever sliding in like that because he knew where to be.
