I was 10 years old when Yorke left but I do remember watching him play and he made me love villa as he was entertaining. His smile on his face did attract fans to him (and Jordan) and players that I remember having a similar attachment while also being decent strikers are Dublin, Angel, Carew and now hopefully Gestede. Unfortunately the way Yorke left tarred his reputation with us but he was much more a fan favourite than Benteke and he was a better player during his peak than what Benteke has showed so far.

Personally, I think it would have worked way better as a series which would have given it more time to flesh out the characters and story. I think the cost of producing a TV series would be too much to get the surreal quality to the world. I cant see it being a massive draw as a film either so I expect the dark tower film to be the first and last unfortunately.

I thinkt Tim is fantastic and "tactics tim" did fairly well today, we did nullify their pace for the most part today, you could hear him upping the tempo in the second half because the last 15 of the first half we dropped off. We were much more on the front foot and then the substitutes were right at the right time. Some credit needs to go to putting Richards at center back today, he was brilliant, lost concentration a few times but he was strong, athletic, vocal and was absolutely throwing himself into challenges. Good center back and captain material.

I start a new job on Monday after 6 months in recruitment. Im surprised I didnt claw my eyes out, I hated it with every bone in my body. Fantastic window and fantastic statements from the incoming players regarding Villa and the effect of the manager. Them being all French is a good thing, being British is part of our team identity and that has failed for far too long. Hoping Tim is able to put his arm around some of our youth team in the future though and give them the mental, technical and tactical attributes that our imports seem to have. Very different feel about the club (exciting, optimistic and ambious). The effect is very much like Gregory and I think if Sherwood manages to do a 4 year stint with the current team behind him then we will be in a much better place.
