sooo.. whats our expected FFP position, leading up to the summer?

we are going one better, we are playing with an anonymous 9.....

so....im 100% in the Ings should be playing over Watkins camp. However, trying to understand the why and play devils advocate might be interesting, so....why isnt Ings starting over Watkins?? Do the coaches see something in training? Are they playing him in the hope that he will regain his form with games? Do the coaches think Watkins fits the system better?, even if to us he looks like he is playing rubbish? Is Ings not "all in"...as Gerrard likes to say a lot? Is Ings not looking as good as Watkins in training? Does Gerrard want to offload Ings' wages in the summer?, so this is a way of saying "you are a good striker, but you will be gone in the summer"? Are they trying to play him in to form, as Gerrard wants to offload him for a big chunk in the summer? (and playing him is the nest way to do that?) Something else??

difficult though isnt it, because tbh, and without wanting to compare players, i think Grealish was more the Le Tissier/Gazza type player, where i think Ramsey is more the Gerrard type player. So while i would agree Grealish had more "natural ability" than Ramsey at the same age, i think its also clear that Ramsey has a much better all round game than Grealish did, but also has quite a lot of raw ability.

we need to give him time tbh. I remember when JJ first came in to the team, he was really poor at times, good others, he said himself he needed time to settle and get used to the PL, look at him now. Chuka will be having the same adjustments, and tbh he is doing ok while getting used to the mens game. only prob is the contract i suppose tho, maybe he is getting on more recently to try to convince him to sign, hopefully he will, but if he doesnt, i would try to get as much as possible for him in the summer (ie: good price with a sell on % or something). Would prefer if he stayed ofc, but i also wouldnt want to lose him for effectively nothing in 18 months.

so in reality, minutes wise, thats 2 goals and 2 assists in 2 games of minutes (174 minutes). Its actually in 1.93 games.......blimey!

by having thick players who panic and boot it all over the place, and other players who panic and cant pass the ball 5 yards without looking like they have seen a ghost.

one of the few players clearly good enough for where we want to be.

not gonna lie, if i were him tonight, and Young got on in front of me, i would be thinking my time here is over. I hope it isnt, but thats what i would be thinking.

i know many wont like this, but i dont think he is good enough to be in the starting 11, if we want to go for top 6/8. He's a good player, but he has some glaring weaknesses imo.

the problem with Mings, is he is an extremely erratic performer imo. Sometimes he's a 9 or 10 out of 10, sometimes he's a 4 or 5 out of 10. If he is going to improve, he needs to flatten the performance curve of huge up and down swings, to be at least a very regular 7/10, with limited swing towards the negative end. He is a good player, but he has too many peaks and troughs in performances to be a consistent player, and at this level the troughs are punished, hopefully he can find a way to be a bit more.....consistent. And before anyone says anything, Konsa was cr*p too, and Watkins, both more so than Mings tbh i think.

to be brutally honest, of our senior players, i really only see 5 of them as good enough for a nailed on spot in the starting 11, if we really want to push for top 6/8. Martinez, Digne, Ramsey, Coutinho & Buendia. Im not saying others arent good enough for squad places, or to compete for places, but for me, they are the only players genuinely "good enough" to be in a starting 11 if we want to really push up the table.

dont give a flying f*** if he sulks. He's playing really.....really....really sh**. 100% needs to be dropped.

my missus said..."ooooh you are 3-1 up..." I said...."yeah dont worry we can find a way to f*** it up and concede two, no problem at all, it'll be classic Villa". Is it more sickening that it happened, or more sickening that you can see it coming from a mile off? We have some seriously brain dead / weak minded players. Hopefully Gerrard knows exactly who needs replacing, cus tbh, its a few of em.
