  1. I look at middle table clubs like Newcastle, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace and wonder if they are superior to us as it is. West Ham and upwards, so top half, is where we would need to make some quality additions in personnel in order to compete.
  2. Might of been mentioned already but I have a few questions: Can we have a basic summary of the transfer strategy and approach for next season to give the supporters some insight into recruitment policy? Will there be any matches shown live on AVTV for international viewers (I am assuming this is a no)? This was much appreciated for our Championship run. Are there any mandates for Smith to promote youth into the senior squad? What's the assessment criteria for a youth player to become a senior player? What programs are in place to transition players from the academy to the first team and help prepare them for a successful future in the first team? Is individual talent the focal point of development within these programs, or are there systems to identify qualities such as commitment to club ethos?
  3. I know of a few who who have accommodation and do exactly that. An indigenous woman told my neighbour that she can earn $100-200 a day. I don't know, they're on the street, and if you look like you need it, you probably do. I never give more than I can afford to lose.
  4. Bump your head and stomp your feet to this! Our people are the product of genocide and slavery Everything in the ghetto was how it was made to be Designed in a process, Prison Industrial Complex Niggas transformed into numbers and objects We pay the devil rent for living in hell Cuz the projects was built on the spot where Lucifer fell Incarcerated knowledge heavy weight (Heavy Nigga) Every black man should read through the Deuteronomy Chapter 28 ~Cursed in the city like we're cursed in the field Cursed on the border, and cursed by the New World Order Our sons and daughters were stolen by another people _ end of the Earth, land of the Eagle This is the sequel to the prophecy Freedom when peaceful then violent is my philosophy I built an army, now I'm gonna build a nation The foundation of a new civilization And overthrow the plantation
  5. The reaction from homeless people when you give them a note instead of some silver coins. But especially their reaction when you give them a comment that reminds them of their worth. Money ain't shit. You got heart, love!
  6. I think the biggest change we will see from last time around, is the competency in recruitment. Well, we better bloody hope so, because it is probably the most critical aspect of team sport. You can have all the ideas you like, but if you don't have the people to embody them, you're redundant.. It is a game involving the betterment of physicality. You MUST have the training and discipline to actualise any ideas. I can't predict or assume what the board has in mind going forward, rather than try I'll just be hopeful of pleasant surprises. I don't foresee recruitment as spectacular as dropping Albrighton, N'Zogbia to replace Ash Young, McLeish in for Houllier etc. Smith is already our most successful manager since Lambert. Aside from the emergence of Benteke and Delph, what have we had worthy of top tier success?
  7. I'm really excited about what's to come. Not to suggest I am setting the benchmark high for where I think we will finish, just that I'm optimistic about the capabilities of some of our men. 2010/11 was my last memory of us being one of the better sides in the division, and our league standing barely reflected that. Houllier got sick. You know the deal. McLeish was the inspiration the club needed, thought the board of the time. Well, I don't think we'll be seeing recruitment of that kind under this regime. I know it's completely different scenarios, but I think Smith will be better than Lambert was. Lambert kept us in it for two and a half seasons remember. Take the spine of the team and we are just as good if not better now in my opinion. Despite some being untested at Premier League level. Swap Abraham for Benteke, McGinn for Delph, Hourihane for Westwood, Grealish for Gil, El Ghazi for Bacuna, Mings for Vlaar, Tuanzebe for Okore etc.
  8. We came out and took it to them, earned a 2-0 lead. Everyone was on their game and played a role. We are ready for our return to the top tier.
  9. Bit ironic that those who have pitched tents are calling out others for catching feelings. White knights? Nah, don't think anyone's trying to rescue anyone here. There's nothing to rescue.. Just some commentary/banter from someone not as interested.. As I said above, Edens knows her audience. You can get as excited as you like!
  10. Oh don't you try and make excuses for his behavior! This is outrageous! Look, he doesn't even know which way his hat goes..! I fell asleep on concrete outdoors in Autumn within 5 minutes of lying down at 10pm when we did an event to raise money for homelessness. Slept through 'til 6am.. I'm sure people have dozed off whilst sitting up right when they've been a passenger on a long drive, they just felt like having a nod.. Mind you the pink leopard skin Gucci outfit and hat backwards suggests to me he's in real trouble. Only joking. He might well have had a big night out, I don't know, but I guarantee you, the time he has invested in being skilled at football far outweighs the time under the influence.
  11. And I bet that the Edens family are allowing her to model for those photos that will go viral with their intended target audience being toddlers, prepubescent girls, and hippopotamuses.
  12. What is the meaning of this? I can't tell if it's a genuine statement or if you're being humorous.. I'm reading it as sarcastic, and that you think Chris is trying to impress somebody, or something.
  13. I'm going to watch some highlights from Derby's season tomorrow. In particular there semi-final with Leeds, in which Lampard said they had tweaked their tactics.. Our motto is 'Prepared', so I want to know what I need to shout out the screen in order to help Smith and the players get the victory.. I'm not sure I'm 'Prepared' to accept that I will be alone (unless I go and watch at a pub) and that my counsel and cheers won't add to the atmosphere. I will be in that stadium spiritually but I can only imagine what you lot going will experience, and how you will influence the game. Do everyone at Villa proud and give our players all the encouragement possible..
  14. True. At the same time, who was picking them to go all the way to NBA champions? This guy did.
  15. Visiting my Yiayia tomorrow, few hours of pre-season scrimmage in the evening, then some futsal on Sunday.
  16. Don't Measure Time. My friend had learnt how to make it in crystal and changa in our teenage years. The idiot went through a period of smoking it everyday over an extended period of time. I shouldn't call him an idiot, but if there's any drug on the planet that requires your respect.. DMT is as good a candidate as any..
  17. Golly gee wilikers. If only I knew. There's a street called Victoria St in Melbourne's inner suburbs which runs adjacent to a set of high-rise commission housing flats. Whether it's 9am on a Monday morning or you name it, you are guaranteed to see some poor soul whacking up in clear view of the public. They can't get more than 50 meters from their meeting spot without indulging their fix. We've only just run a safe injecting room to try and offer some kind of aid to the problem.
  18. I like the Raptors line-up. A friend of mine predicted they'd go all the way very early on in the season, and everyone scoffed at him.. My brother supports the Bucks and I'd love to see Wes Edens have his vision become a reality within such a short time frame and from such a low-point. That said, at junior level I use to play for the Tecoma Raptors who had the best jersey which was modeled on Toronto's, won more Grand Finals than I did anywhere else and went a season undefeated with them. Toronto was my 2nd team in those years and it's always good to see a club get their first ring.. I'm a bit torn. Just glad it's so contested.
  19. Probably the most reliable and generous people I have encountered in my life. They are, without question, reliably guaranteed to f*** you around for time, and in doing so, generously sell you the two-for-one deal of a dose of drugs and a whopper dose of their bullshit. They think that they are telling you what you want to hear, even despite any explanation that an accurate time-frame allows for occupying time with something better than twiddling your thumbs and stewing on what an inconsiderate c^nt this dealer is. Ah, petty street dealing..
  20. That would have to be the sharper end of the lot. Most are cooked on their own product. Unfortunately.
  21. I'm not superstitious, and I enjoy your posts, so don't take this the wrong way.. BUT.. FFS!!! Didn't your mother ever teach you... That if you become aware of ANYTHING that could potentially f*** up Villa's day, then don't give any life to it..
  22. Thanks for that. Senators that are based in my state have offices that are local, two within walking distance from me, yet I have never been referred to them to discuss policy or issues. As you've probably gathered I'm guilty of the criticism dished out by Socrates in relation to a voter who doesn't know the full ins and outs of the system in which his vote holds sway. It's interesting, my local MP for Melbourne is the only representative for his party with a seat in the lower house, yet his party seemingly represents the best case for election. People disregard them because they are not as established as the other two major players and think that they are too idealistic in their approach, that they can't deliver. We're a conservative bunch, that's for sure. How can you bring about change for the better without the willingness to try something different from the same traditions and dogma? If anyone's sick of reading my crap then you'll be relieved to know I've exhausted my soapbox stance for this discussion I think.
  23. There are 12 senators for Victoria. I haven't spoken to any.
  24. There are the quotes. Apologies if I've misconstrued your message.
  25. Okay now I realise I did misunderstand, at some point. My fault. I'm not sure if they are elected by PR. I know that's how we determine the Senate and House of Representatives. The MP I was referring to is the federal member for Melbourne. So he's elected by PR. We have federal, state and local tiers of government, the mayor from my understanding is a token title here.
