  1. Holding on to an optimistic outlook that humanity can mean people collectively, have virtue. Are benevolent and care. I have no doubt that's in our nature. It isn't and won't be the end of our problems even if we were to find it within ourselves, and strive to share it to the best of our ability so that it may thrive. There will always be dark days, misfortune, tragedy and loss. In my view this notion and idea that we are advanced, and advancing to the highest quality of life known. Toward better. Is closer to fable than a true story. The past, is history. The future, a mystery. The present, a gift. There's no mysteries that the histories present humanity every reason to be united in the belief that the narrative we assume is not only accurate, it is also telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Steven Hawking said some words that resonated with me with respect to this. “The thing about smart people is that they seem like crazy people to dumb people.” "The 'Powers That Be' are not smart enough to engineer Armageddon, but they may yet be stupid enough." I'm done giving energy to the outlook. If it comes about then great, I'm glad and hope that I pulled my weight. If it doesn't, I hope I pulled my weight regardless. It's been said you don't give people what they need, you give them what they deserve. I was unsure when I heard it. You give the harvest to the people that planted the seeds. At a macro level I see so called leadership more concerned with violence and threat than anything else, it's so rife that life, as is, can't fathom any different. We get scientific about that. At a micro level I see people who display the nature I mention earlier. Everywhere. And that's why I no longer want to have this optimistic outlook. I don't think it's fair to give false hope or lead astray. Democracy meant power of the people. Thanks for letting me vent VT. 34 years in this life today for me. There's enough time in anyone's life who would spend it well. I didn't want to celebrate this year, however people around me do. Sometimes people see it in you when you can't see it for yourself. That's magic. And we are all capable of it. You can get scientific about that too, if you choose.
  2. Great energy and team spirit today. Undeniably an ever-present after scoring. We were able to get forward without any doubt that a teammate would be gunning to be in position when and where needed. The desire to cover ground and prevent opportunities for Wolves to progress the ball purposefully was intense, and everyone brought that after our goal. Smothered them. Wasn't the best outing we will see, however I don't see any reason other than to celebrate the togetherness and spirit there to be there for each other, to be in the contest at every moment. That's a great game plan in itself if you can find a way to deliver. Another step in the right direction. Another victory. Another chance to keep ahead of Spurs taken, and that's with them getting it done against Luton. Backing us to bring it home.
  3. I'd like to know from the referee why 9 minutes. Duran's running to track back was sensational just there!!
  4. Can understand Duran's frustration. He was fouled and it wasn't like there's any hiding the intent and contact that came with that. It's not wrestling so I'm sure he was pissed about more than us being denied moving further into attack.
  5. My lord. Confident. We've got the scoreboard pressure and ability to add to it. Let's go!!!
  6. Wolves look sharp and can move it well. We won't be able to pressure as we did after scoring for the remainder. I sense if we start second half in the way we finished it, going to have to score again. Wolves will have way too much ability to pick us apart if we are tired and needing to sit deep late on. Be interesting to see how we come out and approach this.
  7. Some high intensity defense since scoring, they could barely breathe. Then three decent moves forward, Rogers, then Konsa then Diaby couldn't find an end product. Like the ambition from Konsa but need to train for a weak foot strike from outside the box. We need to have that kind of confidence to see this one out so glad he backed himself. Reason that wolves will give him that territory though
  8. If Emery's tactics are to calculate the odds of us gaining top four and use that analysis as a means for us to achieve that finish. He would be better off working as a professional gambling man. Focus on each game and the best way to see that our players understand each other and are engaged and focused for ninety minutes each time out. For us as supporters, letting this team know we want it as much as anyone on that pitch, and probably more so. That we are backing them and in their corner. No towel throwing in no matter how grim our chances seem.
  9. I think it's possible, not saying probable, that due to the success we've had over the last two seasons, just about every player who's contributed playing significant minutes could be viewed as a statement signing for a number of clubs. Regardless of how us Villa fans view them. I guess whether or not those clubs decide to invest in them both from a financial and footballing perspective is a different matter entirely. Point is simply that it's no strange event in football for teams to fork out large sums for players surplus to the teams above them. We are talking about teams eyeing off Dougie and Emi Martinez, I think theres more clubs out there that are likely to pay money for the players that are on the market from a Villa standpoint
  10. If it was used in Australia I've not come across it

    Do you read?

    Reading this. @Stevo985 I'd recommend.
  12. Already mentioned but Limewire was great.

  14. He's grumpy with the exit. At a guess adding silverware to his legacy is a personal goal and he's clearly not charmed by the question. Klopp tried to steer the direction of the interview by saying the rest of the season begins, which is to bring in some silverware and end on a good note. He fails. He has an unnecessary pop at the reporter.
  15. @CVByrne It is great to have passionate fans and that will never come without emotion. I sense that you're living this season like you were out there yourself and that's great. If i can offer some unsolicited advice. Competing among the best is always beyond making up the numbers. It's turbulent. It's testing. And it's how you face disappointment and defeat when it's staring at you that matters most. UTV!
  16. @Tayls I know i don't know you outside of your posts here, however i want to challenge this. Would it be fair to say, you have a good idea of your options, and it is those options that are bringing up conflicting feelings? Could it be that what you are doing already is an indication that you can trust yourself through these difficult and challenging times? You are absorbing these difficulties, and it's feeling difficult. That's natural, and a good sign of human. Anti depressants, to the best of my knowledge, take roughly a month or two to start working at changing the brain's chemistry. I'm not too familiar with what they inhibit or release. You do have a measurable time frame though on how long it should be working by. All i want to emphasise is that your feelings and thoughts can be trusted, and should be valued, the entire way. You have every right to have a change of heart or mind about what serves you and what will bring you peace. The reason i say this is because it is important that for you to know what to do, that you value your own input in the dialogue. And that begins with what goes on in that noggin. Allow yourself what you are feeling. Ask yourself what you would like to see given the circumstances, moving forward. And surround yourself with a team that can help facilitate that. Big hugs and condolences.
  17. 1. It's really not. The insinuation was that a woman who had recently been promoted from peer worker to consumer consultant (upon my recommendation) and who was to work alongside me on the consumer advisory board, had make enquiry about me that morning. Psychologists policing comments followed. This woman had three consumers accuse her of accessing their files, something i discovered well and truly afterwards. Fwiw she was the liaise between myself and management during the revamp of the consumer advisory board. The management that was responsible for the removal of the previous advisory board and i had a moment of disagreement in the final meeting before it was ended. Due to the royal commission into mental health, it was never going to be long before an advisory board was reintroduced. I was one of the first to be brought back, and i was working under a chairwoman who decided to move on shortly after the board was reestablished. She gave the clinic her recommendation for who should succeed her, and i was appointed. It wasn't long before management, yes, the one I'd not seen eye-to-eye with, appointed the young woman from consumer consultant, to chair. I was terminated not only from chair, but thanked for my five years on the board and told to move on. Within two months both management and the new chair woman were no longer employed at the clinic. And that had nothing to do with me. I was advised to go to fair work, but advisory boards aren't regulated under law. And honestly my feelings were if that's how it was, I'd be in for a lot that had little to do with the work i had started and intended. Advocating for consumers and bridging the gap between the clinicians and the consumers, to work together. 2. I have an amazing support network, and i have no intention of my ego getting in the way of moving towards a better standard of living.
  18. I've been receiving treatment from this clinic for a decade. I know them like they know me. Not a month has gone by without an hour long session with a psychologist, at times i see him weekly. He's great. Unfortunately he has to answer to and work in accordance with the psychiatric assessment given further up the hierarchy. He's gone as far as he can without jeopardizing his professionalism to give me honest counsel, and that has included empathising with my frustrations regarding treatment, encouraging a review of my mental health file, and even notifying me that a colleague had made enquiries about me and that he couldn't police my file to ensure people who shouldn't be accessing it, weren't. This was during a time i was chairman of the advisory board to the clinic. I've sought therapy and professional counsel from outside sources also. I'm taking some me time. I will be certain to stay in touch. Thank you for saying though @Mandy Lifeboats
