  1. I will have to read it again to respond properly, as it is I don't entirely understand your post as you meant it except for the last line. It's been years since I read it. I probably read it with my focus half on the content and half in my imagination at the time anyway. I remember it as making it plausible that there is no inherent prejudice towards homosexuals and that things had been misinterpreted.
  2. I think it was intended for all people. Neighboring countries and communities, Geoff and his hedge, whoever, can operate with respect and decency for one another, and the land. The avenues for compromise and negotiation become limited when one side is placed under duress by the other or approached with animosity and ill-will. Take the very spiritual Lakota people into consideration. Lakota philosophy was characterized by their emphasis on ideals and values such as community, affinity, cooperation, strength, praying, respect, caring and compassion, honesty and truth, generosity, humility, and wisdom. Lakota meaning "an alliance of people." They held rituals to remind one another that everyone is related. In Lakota warrior culture, the Lakotas also fought wars with other tribes. But Indian tribes treated war differently than European countries did. They didn't fight over territory but instead to prove their courage, and so Plains Indian war parties rarely fought to the death or destroyed each other's villages. Instead, their war customs included counting coup (touching an opponent in battle without harming him), stealing an enemy's weapon or horse, or forcing the other tribe's warriors to retreat. The Lakota did not believe in torturing their captives either. Our leaders promote such culturally inclusive ideals such as eugenics movements, genocide, slavery, corporate sponsored colonisation, fascism, racism, social inequality etc. It's no wonder so many people are spiritually bankrupt.
  3. @limpid You will have to click the link and read (15minutes) the article if you want to understand what I was referring to. https://medium.com/@adamnicholasphillips/the-bible-does-not-condemn-homosexuality-seriously-it-doesn-t-13ae949d6619
  4. Fair enough. They also say love the lord and thy neighbor. But I'm not here to deny the history of people acting on behalf of a religion and in the name of God with tragic ramifications. On the point of worship, from the angle you are coming from regarding religion, I don't blame you. Blind obedience has no accountability, and therefore is meaningless. My deepest respect and adoration would never go to something I associate with being responsible for atrocity and ignorance on a mass scale.
  5. Well the idea of energy being homophobic insinuates God is homophobic, which I can deduce would come from the notion that the bible instructs people to be such. There were a few passages which in my opinion, explicitly state that the sharing of a bed between two men is forbidden. However I have rescinded my view from concrete. There is nothing that can undo the practice and tradition that has ensued from the understanding that people have of what's written in the bible. I will source the pieces of writing I refer to for you. I will get back to you within a few hours.
  6. We do, and so we should, don't you think? Maybe I've misunderstood, but we reap what we sow. As with anything in life, there are repercussions. The recurrence of undesirable outcomes is dependent on our ability to learn. An understanding for what the resulting consequences are, and whether they are beneficial or detrimental is healthy, isn't it?
  7. There's interesting pieces of writing on how certain passages (I think six in total) have been taken out of context and assigned new meaning, creating prejudice untrue of the author.
  8. I suppose I see it as religious because when being introspective and self-aware we are dealing with the acknowledgement of existence and the meaning we assign to it. Belief, ethics and philosophy might be abstract but they determine our decisions, direct our actions, shaping the construct of reality accordingly. We are the fabric of the universe. I say we are God's children because we have the power to create and give life, as well as to take it. To make the intangible become material. The power to manifest reality. So in relation to my original comment that you quoted, the introspection mentioned would then give life to new understanding and alter the course of one's being. Creation. I hope that makes sense for you.
  9. Not entirely sure I agree. There's physiological consequences for love and hate. Universal truth isn't measured in mass appeal. I suppose this is exactly why I mentioned the need to be in touch with one's inner world. When the finger gets pointed at you, the only pressure to succumb to is that which you place on yourself. That way beliefs are not confused and convoluted by and according to the dogma set out by societal duress. I will check out that series. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
  10. Well, it's more about chemistry than biology when you're trying to get a team to achieve together. I could care less, but that's potentially going to bring an end to their dynasty if they don't sort it out.
  11. Is this a legitimate quote? Or just being funny buggers?
  12. If we are God's children, then God is in us, a part of our being. We are essentially a form of the universe experiencing itself, if you think about it. We're not strangers here. I don't believe a connection to God or anything spiritual requires a church or religious organisation/faction, they should only serve as a reminder through the purpose of their actions. Even the most pathologically disturbed understand what is considered good and right. It's inherent and innate in all of us. If your inner world is sound, with both piece and peace of mind, you need not rely on the dogma or commandments of an entity that may have lost touch. There's a speech by Muhammad Ali which I would like to add here, but perhaps 10 minutes is more than desirable for my response.
  13. Drake snapping his vocal chords would be nice. Another 7 game series ending with a buzzer beater would be fantastic, but possibly less important for humanity.
  14. Can't deny you that one. I was asked 'who do you like for the finals?' the other day by my brother, he doesn't miss a game and is a walking basketball encyclopedia. I said, 'Toronto'. He replies, 'That's who you like, not who will win' And I conceded, 'Yeah, GSW will win' I know no one on VT cares, but I wish I'd told my brother what I thought. It's not that I think Toronto are any more likely to win than GSW, but I reckon they've got the squad and ability.
  15. There's a few experienced heads that I'd be open to signing, for sure. Some are realistic, others are not. To name a few, contracts are either expiring this window or players are already free agents: Daniel Sturridge Ramires Juan Mata Yohan Cabaye Ander Herrera Brahimi Lazar Markovic Godin Dos Santos Antonio Valencia Moreno Monreal Welbeck Hector Herrera Filipe Luis I've left out a few talented players because I am aware they have a history of attitude problems.
  16. Played 30 games for a Bordeaux side that are top half mainstays in the French league. The season before he made his switch, Caen finished 7th, four places above Bordeaux. At a guess he would have been focused on the 7th place finish the season before when he joined them.
  17. I'm guessing this bloke will be a hero for us come next season.
  18. Kalinic Guilbert -Tuanzebe - Mings - Hause McGinn - Cabaye Jota - Grealish - El Ghazi Abraham
  19. Been watching a few videos of him this morning. Excellent placement when finishing, makes good runs. If his talents work with what Smith is trying to establish then I don't care if he's PL standard right now, because he will be in time.
  20. Tammy can score goals in the Premier League. For sure. Skills he possesses which will still be a threat in the top tier are his aerial threat, his movement and knack for being in position to receive, his touch and close control. He will need to improve as a finisher and distance shooter, but we've seen how many goals he can score with the above skill-set. He's been prolific for us. Perhaps his greatest asset is his attitude and belief. I'd like to add that even though his goal record at Swansea was poor, he scored 1 in 5 in all competitions, with two braces and all in games where Swansea were competitive. If the question is can he score 10 goals at PL level? I would say absolutely, he scored 8 for Swansea and now has another 25 goal Championship season to his belt.
  21. Axel and Mings have shown a lot of class. I'd look to sign both of them, and potentially start both of them.
  22. Yohan Cabaye is without a club. Wage demands would make me sick I'm sure, but a talented player without a transfer fee.
  23. Liverpool have shown they are a force to be reckoned with within the European elite. I'm not sure the same can be said for Spurs. My Dad and brother go for Spurs, but they don't care for the sport outside of what I report to them. I'll just be watching in hope of an amazing spectacle!
  24. Signing Mings would make me a lot more confident in our campaign.
