  1. We could play both teams at the same time. A bit like a royal rumble, with less violence as VAR wouldn’t like that. Maybe have two footballs on the pitch at the same time. Then charge fans £65 to watch this new and exiting product.
  2. If the rules were supposedly saying that games would still go ahead with a minimum playing squad of 14. Then how many of their players have actually tested positive? Some, a few? What’s to stop another team deciding to request postponement if they have a couple of key players out? Could Liverpool have requested to postpone their game when Salah, Shakiri, Keita and Alacantra were isolating? The precedent has been set now, what’s to stop any team doing this. I should say, I don’t have a problem with player and staff safety. That comes first, and it’s debatable whether football should even be played at all right now. The problem is with the way it’s been handled, much like the governments handling of the pandemic, it’s a sack of shit.
  3. We did play well last night, and we really should have had the three points on the balance of play. Silly little mistakes and some unjust VAR officiating undid the largely dominant display. If we keep playing like this and can cut out the errors, we’ll win more than we lose.
  4. Play it or forfeit. The only two options I would accept.
  5. The relationship thread is still open, I’m sure there’s handy tips there to help you fellas... even at your ages.
  6. This completely passed me by! Not a good draw that for Liverpool, they’d have had high hopes for winning the cup. Never mind!
  7. Team one. Then I’d drop Southgate and tell him that he needs to prove himself in the U18s. Team three is the best though on balance.
  8. The thing is, even with a reduced number of VAR calls, they will still get it wrong. It’s the people interpreting it that cause the issues, not so much the technology itself (although the camera quality is terrible).
  9. It wasn’t that long ago that they changed the offside guidance to say that the attacker should be given the benefit of the doubt, where the linesman is unsure. That made sense, surely we want more attacking play and goals in the game? It’s entertainment and goals are entertaining. This current obsession with hand-drawn lines and millimetres on 3mp camera, is not entertaining.
  10. These decisions are ingrained in him, it’s an automatic choice - garlic Mayo (chilli is for foriners), naan bread (pitta is for girls, and 100% Bruce would go for your throat if you even hinted at suggesting he have salad on it.
  11. Just remembered that perfect ball through to Elmo towards the end. Defence splitting and superbly weighted, only for Elmo’s first touch to spaz it out of play and ruin any chance of an opportunity.
  12. I do regularly question why Mings is constantly just guarding space on corners. Time and time again, the opposition’s biggest players are free to attack the ball. The zonal marking doesn’t seem to be working very well, maybe time for a change?
  13. If they’re unable to field a team and have to forfeit, I’d expect VAR to rule all three of the awarded on paper goals out.
  14. I wouldn’t be surprised if Aswan’s Unfinished Obelisk was started by Trezeguet’s ancestors. He’s improved massively on last season but can he take the next step and improve his finishing? His confidence in front of goal is somewhere down near Hogan’s. He badly needs a goal.
  15. Unlucky with the penalty and scored a perfectly valid goal. I’m happy with Watkins’ performances so far in a Villa shirt, he’s not perfect but you can see the qualities he brings to the team. I’m sure those being overly critical have forgotten what it was like with last seasons striking options.
  16. Woke up this morning still angry that we came away with nothing. Everyone but Moyes thinks it should have been a penalty. The refereeing in the championship was bad, this isn’t much better. We had our chances for that to not have mattered though, Watkins penalty miss and Trezeguet’s miss should have turned the game in our favour. West Ham were very lucky, they’re not a team of world beaters but they took their chances, literally, and rode a tidal wave of luck. We need to beat Newcastle on Friday, there needs to be a reaction. We’ve got a winnable run of games coming up. But we have to make it happen by taking the chances and cut out the sloppy defending.
  17. Just one of those days, again. Extremely frustrating that we dominated the game and still failed to win. That penalty goes in and I’m confident we would have won that. Same with the incorrectly ruled out Watkins goal.
  18. I’m happy with that team. Don’t get the Hourihane hate tbh, he’s got his limits but is fine to fill in for a couple of games. Be nice to see Ramsey get some minutes at the end, when we’re 4-0 up...
  19. I’d sort of forgotten about football since Brighton last Saturday. Having to wait a week then a whole weekend, and then a day’s work, takes the edge of it for me. Looking forward to it though, can’t predict a result so I’ll just hope we win. If West Ham win, it will be three in a row for them. They’ve improved but they’re not that good. If we play to our potential we can take the points. We have super Jack, he alone can win the game.
  20. The Platform was a pretty good film to sit and watch with the family. As Christmas films go, it’s one of the best
  21. Good question, but that would be one for the Thundercats fan club. He had nunchucks if that helps
  22. I’ve read that today. Very mysterious, the aliens clearly didn’t like all the attention and have taken it back to their spacecraft, to cut their sandwiches on.
